Dr. Amanda Bridget Dehlendorf, MD

Made an appointment for new patient and waited 2 months for it. Day of the appointment they called 30 minutes before I was scheduled to arrive while I was driving there and cancelled my appointment on me. They said my case was too complicated. Thank you for wasting my morning instead of reviewing the information I sent over a week ago.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I have been waiting for an appointment to see Dr. Dehlendorf for 2 months. I received a voicemail on Friday reminding my appointment for this morning asking me to arrive 15 minutes to fill out new patient paperwork. I went ahead and printed out all the new patient paperwork at home and filled it out ahead of time. This morning, due to an accident, I was 5 minutes late for my appointment. Obviously emotional, being in pain, and waiting so long to be seen, I started crying and kindly asked the lady working at the front desk if there was anything that could be done. After all, it was only 5 minutes. I was told no, they have a strict late policy and I could not be seen. Something I would like to point out however, is that they said today that I should have been there 30 minutes before my appointment. My voicemail said 15 minutes. It also said 15 minutes to fill out new patient paperwork. Clearly not everyone is on the same page. What I really want to say though, is I… would NEVER want to be seen by a doctor who is clearly in it for the wrong reasons. No empathy, no compassion. I am actually glad it worked out this way because I honestly don't want a doctor like that. I would recommend going somewhere else, to a doctor who actually cares about her patient and wants to help people. Not just to a late policy when someone is (5 minutes!!!!) late! I'm sure she enjoyed the hour off. Extremely disappointing and sad to come across doctors like this.

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Dehlendorf, and I don't often make reviews, but I feel compelled to write this: my own personal experience has been nothing but magnificent. I never feel rushed, and after seeing several rheumatologists before Dr. Dehelendorf, she was the one who never gave up on me. She genuinely cares about her patients, and I always feel like I am her number one priority. She personally responds to my questions that I send through the patient portal, and she takes the time to explain everything until I fully understand. Don't just take my word for it, go see her and you can decide for yourself.

Dr. Dehlendorf was kind, prompt and did take the time to listen to my concerns during my initial visit. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my family and have had symptoms of pain and fatigue which begin four years ago when was in my early 30s. I finally worked up the guts to get this checked out by a specialist (after fearing being told, yet again, that it's "nothing" when in fact I know this is not normal), and after initial blood work her response was to simply take ibuprofen for pain. I know there is something underlying going on to cause years of symptoms which aren't getting any better on their own and I need a doctor who cares enough to consider that perhaps I'm not a common case and to be willing to brainstorm and consider what it might in fact be if not RH. I spoke with another women who also just went to see her and she basically told her the same thing and refused to test her for Lyme, saying she doesn't do that when, in fact, she DID test me for Lyme (her idea)?!! I'm guessing… that unless you're 'an older person or someone who falls into a predictable category of care, she may not be the best option out there.

Takes months to get an appointment, doctor says follow-up in 10 days, but the office staff says nothing available for another 3 months. If you cancel and reschedule an appointment, it will be an additional 3 months. The front desk staff are rude and unfriendly.

I don't think she's compassionate either. Doesn't spend very much time with patients. Limited office hours.

I have been treated by some of the best RA Board Certified Physicians in Florida and after moving back to St. Louis, I was nervous to find comparable care. Dr. Dehlendorf is kind and does take time to answer questions. People, it is YOUR health. ASK questions. Mind reading is not part of Board Certification. Your health is as important as YOU make it. Dr. Dehlendorf is knowledgable, kind and capable. If you aren't getting answers, you aren't asking questions.

At first I really liked Dr.Dehlendorf. She seemed to listen to me and at first took time with me. After awhile I started feeling rushed when she was with me. Then in Nov I went to see her and was sick with a virus.She said she'd put me on a Zpack and that was fine. I asked the staff before I left if my prescriptions had been called in. I was told they'd be called in by the end of the day. My pharmacy was never sent the script for the Zpack. When I called the doctors office they told me that dr. hadn't put it in my record to call it in. She was in such a hurry to go on vacation she forgot to give me a medication that I needed. That doesn't set well with me at all. What else has she forgot to put into my medical file? I am now looking for another Rheumatologist.

She is great.

I was referred to one doctor and got Dr. Dehlendorf, because she had an appointment available with in a week and a half period. Other than that it would have had to wait for Dr. Ross, it would have been at least 45 days. I see that they don't take emergency cases. Everything i understand is slow in getting better, but she does not give enough information to you, due to a 10 minute office visit for way to much money and does nothing. In the process of checking into another doctor.
