Amanda Ezekiel, CNM

What Amanda enjoys most about being a midwife is being able to make personal connections and build lasting relationships with her patients. She loves meeting new people and having the opportunity to learn something new every day. She is most interested in Centering Pregnancy, breastfeeding and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.  Amanda chose to be a midwife because pregnancy and birth always fascinated her. She believes that pregnancy and childbirth are normal physiologic processes, and each birth is unique and special. As a midwife, Amanda feels honored to be a small part of so many birth stories. Amanda’s parents have been her biggest influences. They taught her to work hard to reach her goals and to care deeply for others. Outside of work, Amanda likes to read, travel and spend quality time with her family. She also volunteers with suturing clinics within the midwifery program at the University of Michigan. I take a holistic approach to …understanding the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of my patients. By providing evidence-based and patient-centered care, I hope to prepare patients to make their own informed choices regarding their healthcare.
