Dr. Friedrichs graduated magna cum laude from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with her undergraduate degree in biology. She earned her medical degree, also with honors, at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford and finished her medical internship at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.

Dr. Friedrichs completed her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She began her career at the former Dekalb Clinic where she worked for nearly 7 years. In March 2015, her dream of owning her own practice in her hometown community became a reality and she opened the doors of Radiant Dermatology.

I went there October 12th 2022, to have a body check and a spot on my scalp looked at. She told me the spot on my scalp was probably skin cancer, we would keep an eye on it. She rapidly did a check of my back,, Touched a spot and asked what it was? Had I hurt myself there. I told her I didn't know as I don't look at my back, but hadn't hurt it there. She spent about 3 minutes with me, I went home and was furious how little time she spent and her response to the spot on my scalp. I called and they said they were sorry and she was in a hurry and that I didn't know what kind of day she was having. I made an appointment to get spot on scalp biopsied with the NP there. It came back basal cell carcinoma. Made appt to have the Dr. do MOHS surgery, wish I wouldn't have as she removed a spot from wrong area. I made an appt at a more reputable dermatologist in Jan 2023. She biopsied 6 spots. 2 on my back came back malignant. One was basal cell and the other was DFSP, which is a rare… skin cancer. I'm scheduled for surgery with oncologist in April 2023. I would not recommend anyone going to Dr. Friedrichs.

Would give zero stars if possible. Dr. Amanda Friedrichs publicly embarrassed me in the lobby alongside many nurses without apology. She barely examined me during a regular skin check up and ignored problems that were determined to be serious by other doctors because she claimed “my problems are too complicated” and that “I’m scary”. I did not know it was too much to ask someone to do something that is in their job description or even simply be kind and professional. Would highly advise against visiting Dr.Amanda Friedrichs. Waste of time and money.

This is the one doctor that I have seen that is personable and not a talking white coat... In terms I didn't understand. She made it very comfortable for me.
