Dr. Amanda B Hettinger, MD

I found this office after my second child’s birth. I had been suffering with postpartum, adhd and depression. She really worked with me making sure I was comfortable with her recommendations. Then every appointment would check with me on how the medication was working, my symptoms and what the plan was next. If I would mention a symptom that wasn’t medication related, she would encouraged me to seek answers with the appropriate doctor. Therapist that works in her office, Linda Miller, is also amazing. She is compassionate but realistic and really works with you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this office and Dr. Hettinger!!

She is extremely sexist towards my husband. Lied on referrals, refused to listen to me after asking questions, sat and staired at me for a hour and a half. Kept asking "how am I supposed to help you" and then refused to listen to my answer. Lied to CPS. I DO NOT recommend this "doctor" for anything. She is a terrible human being. Please don't go to her. Especially if you have children.

She is a good Dr. A little different but listens and seems to care for her pts

Most with depression and low self esteem do not need a doctor with folded arms and a flat affect to give unconstructive and condescending feedback. This MD does that almost every time. I feel like I am going to the principal’s office instead of a doctor.

Very unlikely. She is cold, rigid and defensive to the point of hostility. Never smiles. I often left feeling bad about myself instead of better. She does not have the interpersonal skills necessary to work with struggling, vulnerable mental health patients.

Came highly recommended, so I was surprised. Kept calling me ma'am and just seemed very impersonal. Seemed almost annoyed that I brought up an issue I was having, saying I should deal with it in therapy and that was not her role. I know I'm not there for counseling, but I wanted her to know a bit more about me. It seemed like she was reading off a script and didn't care if I said anything that went beyond what she had in front of her. I don't doubt that she knows her stuff, but it would be nice if someone treating me for anxiety wouldn't make me MORE anxious.

Every time I see Dr. Hettinger I leave feeling more anxious than when I came in. She is rude and shows no compassion towards her patients.

She was patient with me trying to explain all my history during the eval. Not warm but she seemed interested.

She was condescending and rude. Backhanded compliments. Very aggressive and mean. Do not waste your time in visiting her. Seems to have little doctoral or life experience.
