Dr. Amanda Melvina Mumford, MD

She saved my life.

Dr.Mumford is a exceptional physician , she truly cares and helps you thru your problems , not by telling you what to do but helping you to see what you can do .. I've been seeing her now for 6-7 yrs ., and I would recommend her to anyone who is suffering from depression , anxiety or any problem that you need help with .

I don't understand the reviews stating she is a pill pusher. I have not had this experience with her over the 4 or 5 years I have been seeing her. Those reviews sound like family members of very sick individuals who sadly want to blame the doctor for their misuse of prescribed medication. Dr. Mumford has never tried to push pills on me. She has sent me to counseling along with meds I was already taking before being referred to her by my primary care physician. When I have had a problem and/or been very upset she has extended my time until I was okay.

Extremely intelligent and insightful. Dr. Mumford is not only caring, but has the skill and common sense to see the whole picture and how it is affecting the whole person's health. She pays attention to details and is very thoughtful when making treatment suggestions. Not afraid to think out of the box, but not careless at all. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants their life back!

Dr Mumford saved my life! She spent quality time with me during my appointment and gave me the exact meds I needed to get my life back on track! By no means is she a pill pusher!! I would highly recommend her .

Dr. Mumford has been awesome for me, after seeing several psych that make you feel stupid and wrong for your mental thoughts. As far as a pill pusher, when a doctor prescribes meds for you it's your responsibility to take them "as prescribed"...not as the patient feels necessary. She explicitly tells you if you have ANY questions or the meds do not effect you the way she has described.... THE OFFICE...which I have had to do...or call office and schedule appt...Sometime you just have to step up to the plate and say..."doc this just isn't working for me"!...

I think Dr Mumford should be investigated by the State Medical Board. I don't agree with the patient that stated "If someone becomes addicted to meds it is the patient's fault". It is the physician of service fault due to the fact the patient only takes what is prescribed and there are no refills until the physicians feels necessary. Dr Mumford prescribes multiple medications with numerous refills. It would be easy to be addicted to medicines she prescribes. I know several people who will never be the same due to her "plan of care" for a patient. She puts them on multiple medicines, I call them "uppers and downers" with many refills. She prescribes a pill to pick them up in the morning then knock them out at night. I know four adults that have gone to Dr Mumford and their quality of life is extremely poor. Each one has a family and now they barely endure daily living due to their dependence of medications prescribed by this dr. They have gone to her several yrs and I feel sorry… for each one and their families. She doesn't tell the patient you WILL get addicted to the medicines she prescribes. I hope someone reads this and thinks deep and hard before going this direction for medical help---

I am in shock by the reviews on this website. If someone becomes addicted to medications it is not the doctors fault. And I personally have been seeing doctor Mumford for years. And she has treated me, accurately diagnosed me, and truly shows an interest in me as a patient. She spends a very nice amount of time with you, and makes sure every question or concern you have does not go un answered. She keeps up with her patients, I talk to her as a doctor and also think she would make an amazing councelor. She gives medications but also life style changes and encourages the full recovery process. I am lucky to have found a doctor like her and 4 stars does not nearly graze her level of intellect, she knows what she's doing, very patient and the most kind doctor I have ever met. I just thought she deserves a positive rating giving that she is a doctor that should be respected as she respects every one who steps foot into her office. That is all:)

Amanda Mumford (I will leave out Dr) because I think she should never be called dr. She is a pill shover that turns young moms into addicts. We recently had to admit my 34 yr old daughter to inpatient rehab due to the massive amounts of meds she prescribed that she become addicted to. The rehab facility said she should be reported. My daughter was told you can't get off the meds she prescribed. My daughter has an excellent job & family support but due to Ms Mumford's plan of care, being drug addicting prescriptions she has declined from being the vibriant person she once was. I have worked for physicians for 37 yrs & this person should no longer be able to treat patients or she should be investigated. My daughter's friend also got addicted & went in to rehab. Both of them are struggling severely. No Name Caring Mom
