VERY NICE STAFF!!!!

First off, I have Medical coverage through my job, with a "co-pay" of $20. I paid $20 for the initial visit (which was expected), and $20 for my TB test results (which was not expected); and they wanted an additional $20 to put my test results in writing. This made me feel as if I was being "scammed"! My prescription was sent to the Pharmacy down the hall, but they said they never received it. After calling several times to the doctor's office about sending the prescription to a different Pharmacy, the Staff became rude and disrespectful, as if I was asking for something "unreasonable". I was never given the option to go to another Pharmacy, which I felt wasn't in MY best interest, but in the best interest of whatever agreement the Doctor has with that particular Pharmacy. After being prescribed two medications, a week and a half ago, I still have not been able to get my prescription filled. While in the office, I noticed several Staff members were on their cell phones...talking… and/or "scrolling", this is VERY unprofessional! Upon approaching the clerk about what was taking so long, I was told, "the doctor had to step out, and will be back shortly". I should have been told that upfront, and given the option to wait or not wait until she returned. This was a total lack of consideration for my time, and also unprofessional. I am stuck with this doctor until "open enrollment" comes back around, but for sure, I would not recommend this doctor to ANYONE!!!

The office staff in this place is friendly enough and they accept walk ins which is good especially in emergencies. So I understand with that allowance there will be a wait time. But when I wait three hours to see a doctor and literally get a 30-second visit (and that is generous), I feel a bit short changed. I am a fair person and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I have a hard time doing so on this occasion. I went to the doctor thinking I had strep throat because my son had it the week before. I called and the receptionist said they accept walk-ins. I got there at 9:30 and when I was called to the back It was 11:45 a.m. But the doctor didn't come in the room until 12:15. She asked what I was there for and I told her I had a fever and believed I had strep throat. She asked me to open my mouth and quickly flashed her light down my throat and said "Ok, I will give you antibiotics and Motrin; go next door to the pharmacy," as she was walking out the door. I think she… then realized how short she was and turned around and asked, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" Disgusted, sick, tired and very very weak, I could not do anything but shake my head, and she left. My son had strep so I know there is a 5-minute swab test that doctors can give or maybe she didn't have to and believed I had all the symptoms; or maybe she was just trying to get to her lunch break. However, she did not say that I had strep, she just said she would give me antibiotics. Then when I got home, I realized that neither of the two drugs that she prescribed was penicillin which is what is typically used to treat strep unless you are allergic. I don't even know why she prescribed two antibiotics especially considering she didn't verbally diagnose me with anything. How does that work? On any other occasion, I would have expressed my frustration to the doctor at the time of the visit, considering I paid my $30 copay for my 30-second visit. But I was just too sick and dehydrated (i literally was scooping water from the faucet in the room to hydrate myself). Unfortunately, I don't have many options in terms of female doctors under my plan to choose from so I likely will be going back to her. This review is not to dissuade people from going to this office, however I hope that she reads this review and remembers the patient experience and how we come to doctors at the most vulnerable times and we deserve a little time more time (maybe 3 minutes) and compassion ... and explanation of the diagnosis and drugs would be nice too.

I had been taking both my children to Dr. Eldessouky because it was nearest to my home. I was very unhappy with the way she seems to rush the appoinments along. Anytime I had questions, she gave very quick answers which did not leave me with the feeling that she actually cared about my childrens health. The final straw came when she ran routine blood work on one of my children and I was advised the nurse would call me in a week with the results. I never received a call so I called the office. I was told by the front desk that the Dr. placed a note in the file and to bring my son in the following week as a walk in. I called back the very next day because I was worried and was told again they could not give me any information and that I would need to bring my child back in. They were very rude and cold hearted. Even after I explained that I was worried and that I worked hours away from their office and would appreciate them telling me whats going on. I walked in on the day they requested… only to be charged another co-pay even though I stated I did not need to see the Dr. and only wanted my childs test results. The front desk insisted that I had to pay the co-pay and see the Dr. so I did. After meeting with the Dr. I was even more upset that she had nothing urgent to inform me of. Simply that my child's iron level was a tiny bit raised and they should eat more iron enriched foods. I expained how furious I was to be made to worry over the weekend and leave work early and it definitely was not a life or death type of situation. I let her know that her staff was very unprofessional. The Dr. apologized and stated it is required which I do not believe is true because I know other family or friends that were given that type of information over the phone. I feel that some Dr.'s do this to collect extra co pays and it is not right. I will be switching Dr.'s immediately!!
