Dr. Amar Lal Purohit, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Purohit for 3 years. His office staff has gone downhill and he no longer renews prescriptions without an appointment . His office had been calling in my prescriptions for years to the same pharmacy and suddenly there were mistakes. His office a policy change to renew prescriptions forcing patients to come into his offce every month. He suddenly began to refuse to renew my hormone replacement prescriptions that I had been on for years as well as for my thyroid and cholesterol meds . I was very disappointed his wife stated they would no longer prescribe my HRT. He was a lovely man and A really true professional when I started with his practice in 2016 . But the last visit was disturbing. His wife who is a psychiatrist and not my doctor starting yelling me I would have to go elsewhere for my medications. I have since switched to another practice . Almost every physician has a nurse who is responsible for renewing prescriptions that are administered… on a chronic basis without making a patient come in for an appointment every single month.

Most judgmental disrespectful doctor I have ever encountered. I work in a hospital and have vast experience with medical professions. This man is truly the worst of the worst. He has a whole gang of people in the examination room. I understand one extra person but why do you need an entourage? He’s rude; he states unrealistic diagnosis and when questioned what his diagnosis are based on he can’t give you clear symptoms of why he believes these diagnosis to be true. He states he is going to rule it out. Yet can’t tell you what’s making him rule it in. Horrendous experience. Don’t waste your time going there. He should be kind and retire no one should ever have to experience what I just went through.

Friendy and courteous nurses, mr Purohit does not know his field very much, always has a person by his side taking notes on a laptop while seeing a patient(NO PRIVACY), tiny office, waiting time: forever, he has his wife acting like a sheriff putting the nurses under intimidation and giving them loud orders. He made me waste 5 months without any progress in resolving the issue I went to see him for., that is almost half a year. AGAIN, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT SEE MR PUROHIT AS YOUR DOCTOR, BECAUSE YOU WILL END UP DOING WHAT I AM DOING NOW: WRITING YOU BAD EXPERIENCE AS A REVIEW IN HIS REGARD.

I've been to see Dr Purohit at least 6 or 7 times, and the wait has always been over an hour and a half. By the time I see the doctor, I am always in the office for at least two hours. Plus, they don't have any water and the office environment is stale and uncomfortable. On top of this, after the dr reviewed blood results with me over the phone (and telling me everything was great), I received a call from his nurse saying the doctor needed to see me urgently the following day. I was very worried and came in first thing the next day. They took my copay and when I saw the doctor he just reiterated what he had already told me on the phone -- that everything is fine. I was furious to have wasted 2+ hours of my day, as well as losing a night of sleep over the worry. Needless to say, I won't be going back and wouldnt recommend this doctor to anyone, much less a friend.

The doctor was good. He explained everything to me. The staff was nice but this one lady I think it's his wife. She talked about other people who was waiting in the office. She didn't let the worker do their job. She was over seeing everything they did and even would talk over them. She was not nice and not professional. The wait was long as well.

Dr. Purohit is very thorough and takes whatever time is necessary to diagnose a problem. I never feel rushed.
