doesn't provide explanations for medication changes or reasons for continuing same dose medication you've expressed to not work. why am i just putting chemicals into my body then?? unprofessional, cried at our first meeting. re-iterates the same thing dozens of times over hearing the client talk, subsequently taking up time which she WILL remind you about. frequently forgetful about key client info, refuses to open her own mind and make her own effort to understand the client over constantly reprimanding the client for being "negative" "talking over her" "not understanding what she's saying" when refusing to make her own attempt at understanding. a typical case of a psychiatric professional belittling the client/ calling them over-emotional. at the very least i wouldn't see her if you're a teenager or younger or really anywhere where she has power over you because she will assert her authority in that typical way where she's the doctor and knows you better than you know yourself.… furthermore lacks any warmth and understanding and will go on her own defensive MULTIPLE times, having an attitude/belittling you for simple communication errors!! i mean, maybe this is an insane take, but i'd want my psychiatrist to not have her own temper issues to add in the mix. i have never said anything derogatory or harassed her or disregarded her in the slightest. i have audhd and a tendency to cut into conversations, yeah? and every single time she gets an attitude over me cutting her off and continues on her spiel instead of giving what im saying the least bit of regard. this is like the fourth psychiatrist ive seen so i don't have to option to try again as of currently.

Contrary to the review left below. I had an awesome experience with Amara. She was on time and her office was very clean. She was very personable and listened to all of my needs. I feel as though she really cares about my overall wellbeing. I felt heard during our appointment.

Her schedule is wide open and you'll get the pick of times available, but I am pretty sure it is because of her behaviour. She is the most unprepared and unprofessional NP I have met. Her appearance is very dishevelled, she does her virtual appointments from a room that looks like it was just swept by a tornado. She uses her phone as her camera and the placement is not face to face. It is too low and off to the side and you can hear her typing aggressively on her laptop. When she is taking your history she makes facial expressions like she is judging you. She acts very annoyed that you are talking, interrupts and talks over you. I had heard that she was bad, but with an insurance change I wanted to get in quickly and thought that it was just that one persons opinion. I ended the session because it was too unprofessional and judgemental for me. Avoid her. She is awful.
