Dr. Amatul Basit Khalid, MD

I found her initially adequate but, over time, is Not someone who can diagnose not treat pain management. The atmosphere is cool to non- receptive and is closely monitored by her husband overlooking every move. My GI issues were best served by specialists and properly trained Anesthesiologist/ pain care Dept.

I have been with her office for at least 10 years and am very sorry to say that I will need to change doctors. You can never see Dr Khalid, you always are stuck with the other doctor. The office staff could care less of your concerns and who ever does the referrals should be fired. Hopefully all people get this frustrated and she goes under in her office. She only cares about going to nursing homes and getting that medicare insurance payments.

I have not been able to see Khalid . I have been scheduled with nurse practitioners mostly .This place is the worse drs office I’ve ever been to .Today was the last time I’ll be there . I found a new dr today and hope for a better future with my health . This place is a joke they don’t show enough compassion .Find another place to go to if you want heard and respected .

Very disorganized and unprofessional office. My voicemail messages have never been returned requiring me to call multiple times, and often no one answers the phone during business hours. They had asked for past records to be faxed, their fax was broken. When I called to have them check their fax I was told “I don’t know what’s wrong with it you’ll need to drop them off in-person.” Most recently, I had one of the office girls yell at me and tell me off over the phone after I left a VM and had to call 3x to actually speak to someone. This is one of the worst experiences I have had with a medical office

Have been a patient of Dr. Khalid for over 7 years would not go to anyone else

I picked Dr. Khalid as my new internist after checking out reviews here, elsewhere and on her website. Given my experiences to-date, I advise that no one believe a word on the site about Dr. Khalid's beliefs in regards to patient care or communication. Specificially, where she states: "I believe that clear and concise communication plays a vital role in a sincere doctor-patient relationship. Furthermore, I believe that compassion, empathy, and sympathy are crucial traits of a successful physician. I enjoy my profession because it rewards me with an opportunity to help humanity and relieve their sufferings. While talking to a patient or a family member, I persistently try to put myself in their situation and try to understand their emotions and frustrations." Dr. Khalid is only available two times a week and her schedule is always tightly booked with only 15 minute pre-scheduled appointments (she then will run over if need be). The rest of the week's appointments, emergency… appointments and any time she isn't in on those days is handled by her nurse practitioner who has horrible people and active listening skills. I thought that my first problematic appointment with her nurse practitioner turned out badly because of a combination of my arriving late by accident and the time of year, but while waiting to get into see Dr. Khalid recently I have had the opportunity to learn much more that has put me off of going back. It's not always easy to get through to an actual person and the front office staff do not always immediately check their voicemails in the morning. Her front desk staff were polite at first but they now typically sound bored or apathetic when I talk to them on the phone. At least one has sounded annoyed. If you have a simple question, Dr. Khalid does not answer it while you wait on the phone OR, apparently, return any phones calls. I have waited about a half month now to get an answer to an important question about the way she practices so that I could decide whether to follow up with her. I've left more than one message and I have received no reply. Additionally, according to her front office staff, Dr. Khalid has a policy of only storing records going back five years. This policy means that if you have older records that are relevant to your current medical care... oh well. I personally need a physician who actually does the things she claims on her website.
