Dr. Amber Mc Grath Shiflett, MD

Dr. Shiflett is AMAZING! I had a horrible birthing experience with my first child under a different doctor and had a WONDERFUL birthing experience with Dr. Shiflett. She is extremely patient and kind and will answer any question that you have. I had a C-section section with my first child and was able to have a successful v-bac with Dr. Shiflett. I highly recommend her esp if you'd like to have a VBAC.

You will NEVER find a doctor who cares more for her patients for all the right reasons. Unlike many doctors, she went into the profession to serve, and it was evident at each of my MANY appointments. Not only is she an exceptionally skilled leader among other doctors as a teacher on the cutting edge of her craft (medical director of Wiser Hospital for Women), but she is also courageous enough to be compassionate to try everything within her busy power to be at your delivery--just as she is with you at every other step. I gave birth to a 9 lb, 12 oz. baby as a VBAC patient, and her gentle, non-pushy, seasoned guidance made it one of the greatest experiences of my life. During pushing she never rushed me, guided my pushing for a near hour, and gave outstanding support to my perineum (no tear)! I agree that University billing and appointment scheduling at Grant's Ferry can be a hassle, but the exceptional care of Dr. Shiflett is worth all of those hiccups and more. Every woman… deserves to be given informed consent with evidenced based practice by a physician who treats her like the queen she is--for birthing life. As women we generally expect too little from doctors due to inexperience, fear, etc., but Shiflett will forever raise that bar if you are blessed enough to receive her service. She is an outstanding human being, and all are privileged who know her!

my appointment was cancelled/postponed with out previous notice, with a promise of rescheduling it, but no one called me, so I called them back and got an appointment of almost 3 week later, well I tried to prepone it and the staff told me that I actually do not need an appointment on first place....really? such a disappointment and such irresponsible behavior and heartless staff who show no empathy at all.....not recommended to anyone ...

Dr Shiflett delivered my baby and I was very pleased with her. She is very busy, and is booked solid much of the time, so it's hard to get an appointment with her. That's a little inconvenient, but it's because she is so well liked and so trusted. She listens well, has a great bedside manner, and I was thrilled with all of my care. I will use her again for my well woman care in the future and will be a repeat patient if I ever have another baby. University billing is a pain to deal with, but I'll put up with it again to use a fantastic, VBAC friendly OB.

Dr. Shiflett is an excellent doctor, walking me through every step of pregnancy and delivery. I hope I never have to use another doctor!

Dr.Shiflett is an awsome DR!The only problem we had was Universitys billing is messed up BADDD

Dr. Shifflett is a wonderful doctor. Despite her being young, she has the wisdom of many seasoned practiioners combined. She really listens to her patients and is very interested in their total well being.
