Very attentive and professional

Dr. Suerber is pleasant to speak with but is unreliable when prescribing medications and following through on needed tests. I had a broken pelvis and was to be scheduled for an MRI to confirm my suspicions since I had experienced this condition a few years ago. I waited for my scheduled appointment which did not arrive. I called Health First Scheduling department and was told they did not receive a request from Dr. Surber. Health First Scheduling department was more than helpful and contacted the Dr. office for me. I was given an MRI within days. Yes, it was broken. The major issue is that I take numerous medications for pain control and cancer treatment. Dr. Surber did not take the time to check if there were any serious side effects that could result in the medication she prescribed. It is only because I was using my scooter around the house due to pain from walking that I was not more seriously hurt. I could not understand why I was frequently hitting the door frames when riding… the scooter, with such force that my hands were bruised and bleeding. Of course, I blamed myself for being careless. Next, my head hit my desk with such force I was shocked, this happened again by the countertop and I thought I broke my cheekbones. The one day I felt fine, completely in control and drove my car about 6 miles and panicked, I had to yell at myself to stay calm, drive slow, etc. When I drove into my driveway I started to cry with relief. Had there been more traffic only God knows what could have happened. I had been completely confused. The last episode resulting from Dr. Surber's prescribed medication occurred while I was standing beside my husband and with great force fell backward on to the floor. There were no warning signs before the fall no dizziness, no feeling ill. It was then that my husband asked what I was taking. I answered only prescribed medication. I checked out the medication she prescribed, Baclofen. Side Effects: I am taking 5 medications that are highly clinically significant for dangerous side effects and should be avoided, the combinations and health risks outweigh benefits. Confusion, fainting, muscle weakness ( severe ) vomiting, muscle, and joint pain trembling ( I could not hold a pen in my hands ) These are a few of the experiences that I had. Dr. Surber always has her computer to check with and did not take the time to evaluate the side effects of this medication. All that I experienced was unnecessary, and due to carelessness. She did not follow through for an order for an MRI she also did not check the side effects Baclofen would cause with medications I am currently taking. This was a very dangerous time for me and I am still grateful that I or others were not seriously hurt. Please check any new medications you are prescribed before taking them.

In general (and only because I'm an old crotchety woman) I prefer male doctors but Dr. Suber is changing my mind. She does listen, she does not waste your time, and she does not patronize the patient. Her "bed side manner" is good as well as being very competent. My previous doctor was always trying to sell me something and I hate a hard sell on anything...but it is worse when it is about my health.

She actually listens to you, and offers different treatments when needed, and she always explains to me what she is talking about. Best Dr. I have ever had!~

I love how she remembers us even though we aren't there very often and she listens to what WE WANT and need.

My appointment with Dr. Surber was today, and I need to say that I felt absolutely wonderful leaving her office knowing that I was in such good and caring hands! She by far is one of the BEST doctors I have ever been to and I am very picky! I need a personable, nice and VERY knowledgeable doctor which is hard to find. After sitting with her just a few minutes, I felt like I have known Dr. Surber all of my life, such a beautiful personality and my trust level with her is now beyond measure as she was so knowledgeable with my health concerns. My husband is going to start seeing her as well. She LISTENS (and I talk a lot!) and she cares. My husband & I recently moved here from Virginia and it's hard to start new and find a REALLY good doctor (both bedside manner and knowledge). I have found "the one" in Brevard County and just so so happy with my choice of this wonderful doc! I feel my life and health are in EXCELLENT hands now!

I'm writing on behalf of my mom- who can't speak for herself because she passed away Sept 8th 2014. Dr. Suber was her doctor. Dr. Suber missed an opportunity to catch my mom's cancer and wasted time (which my mom did not have) doing needless tests, when she should have just sent my mom straight to an oncologist. In two months time my mom I watched my mom waste away. We went into Royal Oaks BEGGING them to do something only to have them send my mom away for more ridiculous tests. They NEVER gave her a referral to see an oncologist- and as a 8 year survivor of breast cancer (with a lump)- that's who should have been treating her. My mom did not get to see an oncologist or get diagnosed until two weeks before she passed away. She had breast cancer which had spread to her spine, pelvis and stomach. The outcome might not have been different but Royal Oaks (Dr. Suber) could have alleviated her suffering by ordering her ascites drained (instead of ignoring her) and at least left her with… the dignity of being listened to, instead of feeling like she was ignored. The one good thing- one of the receptionist ladies at Royal Oaks was so caring - she was so compassionate towards my mom.

Dr. Surber is an excellent doctor. She listens to my concerns, answers my questions, and I never feel like she is rushing me through my appointment. Dr. Surber is very thorough in her exam and always provides all the options available so that I can make an informed decision.
