Dr. Amber Dawn Van Laar, MD

she left the upmc neurology dept and I cant find out what happened to her.

I saw Dr. Van Laar while I was staying at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital to have diagnostic tests for a suspected autoimmune disorder. This condescending doctor thought it was appropriate to turn me into a show. I counted at least eight residents that she brought into my room without even asking. Her strength assessment of my legs left me almost unable to walk. Then, she told me that all of my issues could be caused by stress and lack of movement when I'm physically unable to even tense many of the muscles in my legs. She demanded I start physical therapy immediately, without knowing if there was a structural problem with my lower back. The worst part is that she wasn't even my doctor. She was brought in for a consultation, yet she acted as though she was in charge of everything. The doctor who is actually in charge of my case apologized for Dr. Van Laar's behavior, which I greatly appreciated, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I drive two hours to see Dr. Van Laar because she has diagnosed my Blepharospasm and she's been successful at treating it with Botox injections every three months. We've come along way since I've started seeing Dr. Van Laar.

Dr. Dawn Van Laar, and Dr. Anto Bagit are both very cocky Drs. We drove 7 hrs. to see these Drs., not including money spent on gas, food, and our time, just to get cocky ignorant Drs. There was a black girl working in the Epilepsy Department who asked me, " Don't you want to take your bra off in front of me," when I first got there and got a Gown to change into! This definetley wasn't worth my time or my Family's gas, toll money, or food and drink cost!!! Most of all I was really looking forward to them helping me w/ my illness, but no. They got paid for the same thing my Drs. already did here years ago! So my insurance paid Twice, and of course I am no further w/ getting better! So they got ahead w/ money, and I am still in the same rutt I was in before I even went there for the first time! I am tired of all these Drs, and Hospitals getting all this money for job that isn't done! In any other Profession, you don't get paid until the job gets done and done right!!! That's how all… of us people have to live, so why shouldn't Drs., and Hospitals. The U.S wants to get out of Debt, but it never will with these Money Hungary Grubs! Thanks alot Pittsburg for making my life worse!!
