Dr. Amer Ziad Akhrass, MD

I had been a patient of Dr. Akhrass for a few years until today. I called up his office and an ignorant African American Bigot was very rude and would not give a message to the doctor for me. As a result of this phone call, I am not longer his patient and don't suggest you go to this office if you are white as the staff appearently is racist toward white people. I will be telling anyone I know not to go to his Homestead office. If anyone experiences this at his other office, I suggest you write a negative review like me. I am sorry to inform you about this Doc, but I have been disrespect by many African American people in my life, including those that worked at 905 Dickson Street, where the staff allowed an African American to go into my apartment when no one was there and steal $800 worth of property, and it was covered up by the African American Staff, Their supervisor, as well as her two supervisors also African American. So, when I am disrespected by African American… Americans, I don't take it lightly. My suggestion Doc is to have some training regarding the African Americans that work for you about treating everyone, including white people with respect.

Dr. Akhrass is my PCP who I find very knowledgeable, kind, understanding, informative, caring. That's why I have him as my pcp.

His office is staffed with random students that are not there long enough to even know how to take your BP, i've been 5 days without mental health medication because of the neglect of him and his staff despite my pharmacy and myself calling for over a week.. hands down puts profits above his patients in all my experiences with him over nearly a decade dealing with him, do not suggest seeking his services!

you'll find his practice is busy and that's because a lifetime of patients know he is a brilliant and gentle, affable doctor with great bedside manor! Be patient, show on time, it's worth the wait. He had an opportunity to admin at Shadyside hospital but wanted to help locals instead! Just a good soul.

My husband is a patient at the homestead office. Shakira as she called herself is extremely unprofessional. She needed to fax important information for my husband, I called the place and they informed me she never did. When I called shaquita and infomed her she said" they are lying" I faxed it. She is disgustingly rude.

Dr. Ahkrass saved my life more than once. He listens and works with me on all my chronic and acute health issues. Messages sometimes need to be left more than once, but in an emergency call backs are immediate. I truly believe in this physician and am thrilled with the help he has given to me!

I would not be alive today if it were not for Dr. Akhrass. He has been my doctor for over twenty years. I had no symptoms, no pain, no idea at all that I had a life threatening illness when I had a routine checkup. Because he found I was anemic, he sent me for a screening colonoscopy that revealed I had stage three colon cancer at 52 years old. Wonderful outcome, I am healthy and remain cancer free almost ten years later but it was quite an ordeal getting to this point. Dr. Akhrass not only stayed by my side but became personally invested in my case, connecting me with the best oncology team and colon surgeon anyone could hope for. I will remain indebted to him all of my remaining days for helping me to continue to live and enjoy my many, many blessings.

waited over two hours for my appt. staff was rude an very confused. I am still waiting for my test sched. when I call they tell me that they are waiting for approval. it has been over a week and I called my insurance and it has not been started yet. the young lady that use to handle the problems is no longer there. I feel bad for the patients his office staff really sucks and for that I will be transferring out quickly. this is the third time I waited over and hour for an appt.

Dr. Akhrass is a very knowledgeable, kind, understanding, polite, sincere physician who makes your health concerns and needs his priority. His bedside manners are awesome and makes you feel comforted via his easy conversational style. Dr. Akhrass has helped both my now deceased parents throughout the time he came to Homestead, PA. They loved him as their doctor because they felt they could trust him -- for that I am eternally grateful for all the complete care he provided them and my entire family. Great doctor and human being -- a true ethical physician.
