Dr. Ami Ben-Artzi, MD

i would not recommend this dr to anyone i care about, or anyone that i do not care about. my experience was awful.

Without a doubt, Dr Ben-Artzi is the best Rheumatologist in this city. He listens to your problems, looks you straight in the eye and answers with care and concern. Explains any concerns you have. I have been there 3 times with AWFUL pain. He diagnosed me and fixed it without a problem. The staff in that office is outstanding. His assistants are with him at all times. When you are with him, his attention and the attention of his assistants are completely directed on you. I highly recommend Dr. Ben-Artzi. Whatever your problem, he will fix it.

I have had rheumatoid arthritis for over 30 years, as well as COPD, and have had a few rheumatologists during that time, due to changes in insurance, moving, etc. I have now been with Dr. Ben Artzi for a few years and can only describe him as a first class doctor. Although my other RA doctors were good, Dr, Ben-Artzi goes to great lengths to ensure my treatment and medications work in conjunction with those I take for my other conditions and he keeps in touch with my other doctors when the occasion calls for it.

After searching for years for a rheumatologist to replace mine of over 20 years (retirement) and finding them all lacking I discovered Dr Ben-Artzi; what a great day!! I’m not an easy case with many overlapping autoimmune diseases. But Dr Ben-Artzi, smiling all the time, got everything in hand. This Doctor is an excellent diagnostician; he’s aware of the latest meds; he speaks to me as if I am an intelligent person and he listens to what I say. He is incredibly compassionate. If only all doctors had a wee bit of Dr Ben-Artzi’s intelligence and bedside manner we’d all be healthier and happier. I love him and I’m so very grateful. He sees each patient as a whole person and not just the disease. Wow!!!!

Although the initial visit went well, Dr. Ben-Artzi wanted to make sure that what my father had was "really gout" even though an MRI and x-ray both showed tophi. He said he wanted to get in touch with my father's primary Dr. to review his records and determine what his uric acid level was before he had started treatment and said he would call her. This was on a Friday. He finally called me Tuesday evening to say that my dad's primary physician had not contacted him. I found this very odd since she is extremely good about returning calls. I called her office the following day and was told the only call Ben-Artzi had made was Tuesday evening. Nothing before. He then told me he wanted my dad to come in to his office the following day so he could check his foot. My sister drove our father to the office which is about 40 minutes away, only to be handed a prescription. Ben-Artzi never did look at my father's foot. He could have called the prescription in over the phone. Needless to say, we… will not be going back.

Rude, condescending, uncaring staff member (I believe she is Dr's head nurse/assistant. She responds to calls for the Dr). She does not listen, talks over me, abrupt, unsympathetic and lied. All things a patient does not want from a healthcare provider.

Very willing to research and explain which I found invaluable.
