We had a very negative meeting with this doctor. We are looking for a new endocrinologist for our boys because our previous one has moved. This doctor had two student doctors with her who she neither introduced to us or asked our permission for being there. Something we let slide because we normally don't mind student doctors (but I discovered in this appointment I feel significantly less comfortable with them there if I am not introduced to them). She immediately did not appear familiar with the case of the child she was seeing nor had she (as she admitted) looked into his older brothers file, something we had requested of her to do before we met for the appointment when we spoke over the phone- since the children have similar symptoms. She also was not familiar with previous blood-work or any family history for the child she was seeing, only the most recent growth hormone stimulation test results. She repeatedly misunderstood what we were asking and told us we did not understand the… situation (this is our second time down this road with a child, we understand very well) and would aggressively corner me while I was asking questions. We never did get an answer about what our options were and how we should be moving forward.. only being told what we would not be doing (in a manner suggesting that was what we wanted to do). We eventually gave up and left the appointment, making another for a different doctor in the same practice. We were very disappointed and taken by surprise because our previous doctor had been wonderful and our previous experience with other practices has been that doctors in the same practice are often equally competent with one another.
