Dr Amina Farooq

Amina Farooq, M.D., is an interventional radiologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta, where she helps diagnose and treat a wide range of cancers using minimally invasive, image-guided techniques. Committed to compassionate care, she prioritizes her patients’ comfort and safety while improving treatment outcomes.A fellowship-trained interventional radiologist, Dr. Farooq offers patients access to advanced interventional radiology procedures, including minimally invasive biopsy, microwave ablation and cryoablation, pain management techniques and liver-directed therapies. She collaborates with patients’ multidisciplinary cancer care teams to determine effective interventional radiology approaches based on their unique diagnosis and health goals.Dr. Farooq earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She then pursued an internal medicine internship at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at Mather Hospital …in Port Jefferson, New York, and an interventional radiology fellowship at New York University. She is a member of multiple professional associations, including the Society of Interventional Oncology, and has multiple peer-reviewed publications to her name.
