Dr. Amir Tadrous Awad, MD

This is one of the worst doctors I have ever been to. He could not spend more than 5 minutes with me before rushing to the next patient. I complained of pain in left lower intestine and brought info from ER of possible Colotis. Sends me to get a Colonoscopy. Perform Colonoscopy and sent home with no follow up care and simply said things look normal to my husband. Had bleeding was concerned about next day and called after hours and was told there was no doctors on call even though he told my husband if any concerns call the office number. Had questions about medication prescribed as it did not match my symptoms. Was brushed off to a nurse and never got to talk to the doctor no matter how many times I called. I had to call several times to get any response from the office. I got billed for lab results from Colonoscopy and was never called. I had to call to get results, they never bothered to give me results even though they said we will call as soon as they are in. When finally got my… results they stated all was normal however when I pulled all my records out of there I saw that I had bad hemmroids they never told me about and only found out because I pulled actual lab results. If you want a doctor who takes the time to listen, explain his treatment plan and listen to any concerns you have about medication this is not the doctor for you. He is simply there for the pay check to see how many patients he can push through his conveyor belt of an office. The whole experience was horrible and I felt like I was a bother even though I paid good money to be seen there. Remember Dr. Awad your patients spend good money to see you. Some compassion and time to listen and explain reasoning for treatment would be greatly appreciated. I was never able to even talk to you after that first appointment no matter how much I asked and stressed my concerns. Will never go back and will make sure all my friends and family stay away as well.

This doctor will reject you if you were seen by any other GI doctor in the past. He told his staff to reject any patients that have been seen by other GI doctors in Tampa. He also believes that patients are locked into their provider and needs to be released in order to see him. We the patients are not animals and we don't need permission of being released. I am in complete shock that there is such a doctor in the medical field with such horrible values.

Amazing doctor !! I tried so many doctors before him, he solved my stomach problems, he listened to me and all my symptoms without interruption or rushing! I'm so glad and definitely recommend him

Be careful of what you say to this doctor; he doesnâ??t like to answer questions or explain the rationale behind some of his treatments. He was very offended when I suggested I might seek a second opinion; a competent doctor should not feel threatened by this. Staff had great difficulty understanding my need for a sudden prescription re-fill because I was leaving town, and didn't understand that I couldn't see the doctor until I got back. Apparently that was not acceptable and Dr. Awad told me to leave his practice (fired me). He had put me on medications he insisted I had to take for the rest of my life. There was never any follow-up or guidance in the management of these medications. I subsequently found other gastroenterologists who offered the necessary guidance. I have never been treated by a doctor this poorly. This doctorâ??s group is assembly-line business production with very little flexibility for the patient. They do a good-enough job for acute care and initial… consultancy, but for long-term care I do not recommend them.

He was amazing. I had a problem at 1 am and he was there in 10 min.

It was very easy to get me in to see Dr Awad. I'm glad I did. He is a very skilled physician able to comfortably perform the most complicated procedures. I was terrified after learning that I had a lesion on my pancreas. Dr Awad performed a complicated procedure called endoscopic ultra sound, a procedure that only few gastroenterologists are able to perform. He was able to fix my problem. I do recommend him to all my friends.
