I will just say this.. after I had my surgery. Became very rude.. Even said to me why did you even have this surgery.. and after a ultrasound today the reservoir that hold saline solution to pump in implant had moved from my abdominal area to the bottom of my scrotum which stabs me every time I sit down and stand up.. oh when he looked at it call it a cyst...

Dr. Chakrabarty treated me for BPH and conducted a biopsy. Following results, he recommended a TUMT procedure, which I accepted. The procedure was smoother than expected and the following few weeks were definitely painful with some bleeding. But, this was all explained to me prior, so nothing unexpected. After the three weeks, I began to pee much better, with pain and bleeding going away. 6 months later, I'm peeing like I did 30 years ago, hours between bathroom breaks and only waking about once during the night to go. Further testing showed my PSA level had come back down to normal and the Dr. recommended to monitor and come back in 6 months for another test. I am greatly pleased! The Dr. is very experienced and his waiting room is always packed because he is highly referred. He doesn't "sugar coat" any discussions and gets right to the point. If a patient is looking for kind words a hug, perhaps Dr. Chakrabarty is not the Dr. needed. If a patient is looking for results and… help, do the wait time in the waiting room and be a patient patient. My opinion is that he will be worth the wait!

This was the first time going to this office & I was so pleasantly surprised. The office staff was friendly and helpful. They were extremely busy this day but everyone stayed calm, cool & collected. I was taken to an exam room and explained to that Dr. Chakrabarty was the only doctor there that day & patience would greatly be appreciated, he was working diligently to give everyone the time they needed. When he came in he greeted me right off with a formal introduction including a handshake. He asked to please excuse the wait, telling what the situation was & I told him I totally understood. I use to work in the medical field and knew how hectic things could get & how fast. He explained everything to me & answered every question I asked, not making me feel like I was taking up his valuable time. He remained in good spirits & smiled while he was in the room with me, not letting any frustrations of his hectic day show. I can honestly say, this was probably the best visit to a… specialist that I've been to. And I've been to several. Great job Dr. Chakrabarty & Staff.

Made an appointment for him to care for my catheter and sat in the waiting room for about an hour before he realized we were waiting for him. He then tells us that he "doesn't do that" and was returned to the nursing home for the nurses to care for it.

Well right now I’m not happy with him at all he did my surgery but now I can’t pee and so he did something yesterday and now I fell like I have to go potty all the time and I still can’t pee and have to catch myself I’m sure he will make it better when he gets back from India or I hope he will.

We recently took our mother who has advanced Alzheimer's to Dr. Chakrabarty Our mom is doesn't understand directions, nor can speak. While Dr. Chakrabarty was examining our Mother at Poplar Bluff Regional Hospital, he said to a medical CNA that was at our Mom's bedside "What is she retarded." This CNA has worked at our Mom's nursing home for years and would have no reason to lie, or make up some story. When we confronted Dr. Chakrabarty, he was combative and argumentative and completely unprofessional. Dr. Chakrabarty then refused to treat our Mom for life threatening marble-size kidney stones combined with a UTI and sepsis infection. Finally, our Mom was sent to another hospital and a more professional Urologist.

He is a wonderful compassionate doctor
