Dr. Amit Kumar Dahiya

I would not recommend Dr. Dahiya. He does not take the time to get to know his patients. Due to the nature of my disease, I have a care plan. The day he was put on my care team, he deviated from that plan for pain medicine. When I tried to explain that giving me less medication would only set me back, he said I was wrong and needed to give his changes time. This was on a Saturday, and at that point, I had already been in the hospital since Tuesday—“giving it time” was not a solution. The next day, he came back and I again tried to explain what I needed from my care plan. He proceeded to read the plan to me as if I were a child. When finished, he said, “I don’t understand how you are not getting this,” to which I replied that I was confused as to why I could not receive my care plan. We moved on to a new subject, and during this conversation he told me to “please stop talking” in a condescending tone. I replied, “Do not talk to me that way,” and his response was, “Don’t talk to me that… way, I’m the doctor.” At that point, I asked him to leave, and he is no longer on my care.
