All of the providers at Vijapura & Associates are excellent listeners and take the time to work with their patients in pursuit of long-term improvement. This is how health care should operate everywhere.

Dr. Vijapura is competent compassionate, he is always on time for his appointments.

Dr. Vijapura is a pretty smart doctor who definitely is up-to-date on the latests medications since he also does lots of clinical trials. This is good and bad. There were times where my therapist had ideas for medication or I researched things and asked questions about a medication that he didn't really want to hear about or address. Wait time was variable and sometimes I would be seen right away and others I would have to wait for 20-30 minutes. That said, he never rushed me during our appt time which I appreciate.

he is one of the few doctors that sees Hillsborough County patients. he only gets like $30 for a 15 minute medicine check up. They take over 6 months to even pay her, IF they pay. The patients are getting free care, paid by us tax payers. Don't complain and get a JOB! I pay more for a pedi / manicure then what he gets for a medical visit. If you want more time, dig into your pockets and be self pay. Stop smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day, and then you can afford private care.

At what point is it ever O.K. to prescribe an addict an addictive medication that is not used to help the addict come off of a drug that is being abused? Never! ADD medicine?!!?....So disappointed

this doctor will not call-in prescription refills to your pharmacy under any circumstances. you have to make an appointment to get a refill. so, if you happen to run out of your medication, and can't get an appointment immediately, you are out of luck. when I suggested that this might be dangerous for the patient, you asked "are you a doctor?" this is the first time that I have run into a doctor that has this policy. obviously, it is for his convenience, not for the benefit of the patient.

No words can express how thankful my family and I are that I found this wonderful practice! I've seen other psychiatrists and therapists in other cities I have lived in. But they are the first ones that I have felt comfortable enough to completely open up to in 15 years. By asking the right questions, they were able to discover that I had been misdiagnosed. They took the time to get to know me and make me feel comfortable with them and than asked questions that allowed them to give me an informed diagnosis. It's a process, but I'm glad they are there to help me along the way. Thank you!

If you have to see a Psychiatrist you are left with many bad Psychiatrist in Jacksonville. If you can see Dr. Vijapura you will be so lucky, do not have to feel ashamed, you get best medical care, great office staff.Good luck.

I know all psychiatrist in Jacksonville, I think Dr Vijapura is most smart and highly respected Psychiatrist.

I love this office... unfortunately, my insurance changed and I have to see someone else now. But this guy is great.
