Dr. Amity King Yee Chu, MD

I’m discussed by Dr. Amity Chu O’Connor. My vulnerable elderly parent was admitted to the ER Dr. Chu O’Connor was her ER physician that treated and discharged her after a 15 hour admission for a hypertension crisis. My Mother was accompanied by her longtime caregiver who had a copy of her advanced directive for healthcare that lists me as her proxy and written electronic information of what had been happening with her leading up to the admission. Her electronic medical record including the advanced directive is up to date. I attempted multiple times to talk with Dr. Chu-O’Connor during the admission. Dr. Chu-O’Connor refused to speak to me regarding what was happening medically with my Mother. If your loved one can not advocate for themselves or report what is happening do not place them in her care. She will not communicate with you or return messages. Kaiser Permanente and The Permanente Medical Group should retrain this person. Her behavior is completely unacceptable. … Beware of your family’s care with this individual.
