Dr. Amjad Mohammed Faheem, MD

I was new to the state and was referred to this doctor by a friend. He was quite attentive the first time I saw him. but that deteriorated quickly. His eye is on the bottom line not his patients. He once gave me penicillin, which I'm allergic to. Because of the brand name of the drug I didn't know what was in it. I took with blind faith that he read my allergies. He once told me I was going to be come a paraplegic if I didn't not have a surgery in my neck. The surgeon gave me only a 50/50 chance that the surgery would work, I didn't like the odds. Lastly I was actually the first patient he walks in the room and ask if his PRN had come in yet. No she hadn't so he turn around and said he had better things to do. I changed my physician right after that

It's a surreal experience that I will never forget. It was my first, and thankfully only time, seeing this doctor. He entered the room and slapped a knee brace I was wearing and said, "What wrong with knee?" Exact quote. Here's the problem: My knee replacement had broken apart inside my leg, and when he slapped that knee brace, it hurt, and probably didn't additional damage. He's lucky I didn't report him, but I kept quiet. I do want to warn any other actually sick people to avoid this doctor like the plague. Hopefully sharing my experience will help you find a new doctor in Elizabethtown. After slapping my knee brace, he hatefully told me to stand up. I did the best I could. He felt my back for 2 seconds, said, "Scoliosis, come back 3 months." That was the extent of the exam. He then started to walk out of the room. I had gone because I needed a family doctor to monitor a serious health condition I almost died from when I was 8 years old (I got a last wish in 1985). I contracted… systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis at 4 years old and it ate through my entire body by the time I was 12. I have 6 joint replacements, osteoporosis, and have a persistent version of the disease that leaves me with fatigue, fevers, and sometimes difficult to treat infections. I also have damage to literally every joint left in my body. Obviously, my life's goal wasn't to get chronically ill at 4 years old, and I'd love not to be sick, but I can't help it. When I attempted to tell him I had come for a referral to make sure my the screws and plates in my neck hadn't also come loose, and needed to go back to see my neurosurgeon, he became visibly hostile. So did his "nurse." They treated me like I was in their way, got hateful with me, and when I walked out to the waiting room while he called to "verify" that I'd really had neck surgery (his nurse's exact quote on the phone was "we're careful with medicaid patients), the doctor got in my face when I got up to see what was going on, and pointed to the waiting room, and told me to get back in there. And then he said, audibly so everyone listening could hear, "That medicaid patient is holding the whole office up." Sorry for getting deathly ill as a child and holding you guys up! I'm sure the legions of miserable looking 20-30 people waiting in your office needed your 3 minutes of attention, too! Being treated this way is something I will never forget. Not only was I suffering from a serious chronic health condition for the last 35 years, but this man was basically shaming me for being sick and holding up his office. He dismissed me as a patient at the end of all this. I have never had a doctor hit me before. This one did. He hit a knee replacement that had literally broken apart in my leg (a Louisville surgeon performed the surgery and said it fell out in his hands when he opened up the leg). He treated me like I was there to ruin his day. He was hateful, and condescending, and in physically in my face hostile. Apparently this doctor doesn't like treating people who need more than 3 minutes of his time. What is ironic about this whole thing is that, yes, I'm a Medicaid patient, but I also am on SSI and do self-employment work whenever I'm able, working as hard as I'm able to do even though I could have just sat here and done nothing with my life. "That Medicaid patient" got through college in 2006. "That Medicaid patient" does freelance writing every year whenever she's not recovering from a major joint replacement surgery (I have six of them and one is broken right now). "That Medicaid patient" didn't ask to get sick, and they definitely didn't deserve to be treated like an old dog that needed to just go away and suffer and die with no treatment. If you're really sick, stay away from this monstrous doctor.

The staff here is very rude. Apts. are hard to get in. Felt like I was treated like a number instead of a patient.I had a sister who went here and was misdiagnosed. Also had a friend who went here and was misdiagnosed, sent home, had a heart attack a few weeks later and died. Passport patients are treated with less concern.
