Dr. Amos Luther Lash, MD

Dr. Lash talks a good talk, but not so good at the follow through. My father in law had prostate surgery. It was supposed to be at 11 am, take about an hour, recovery was supposed to be an hour and then he was to be released to go home. Dr. Lash was so far behind he did not get into surgery until 3:30 pm, two surgeries were postponed because my father in laws surgery was SUPPOSED to taken one hour, in reality, it was three hours.! The anesthesia was made for an hour surgery but Dr. Lash pushed it, as he was committed once inside. Obviously he had no idea how big the prostate was until he was inside. ? Anyway, it ended with my father in law in the SCU, then a hospital stay of 4 days!! He was going to be released on the third day but with oxygen, when he went in with no oxygen needed. Husband demanded for the hospital to find out what was wrong. They could not run tests until Dr. Lash ordered them BUT they could NOT contact him. Finally the hospital Dr. took over (long story… short) ordered tests turns out father in law developed pneumonia, and he was not given his regular medication for those 4 days and NO one could get a hold of Dr. Lash to get permission to give my father in law his medications or order a chest x-ray. It was a mess and he NEVER went to see my father in law in person those other days putting day of surgery aside. He communicated by computer "notes" as the staff called them. By the way no one ever got a-hold of Dr. Lash himself, not even the hospital supervisor, who had the case overridden, and that's how father-in-law ended up getting the chest x-ray and the antibiotics plus his regular medication. DO NOT GO! Don't chance your life with this man. In my opinion he needs to stop operating and stop hurting people who trust him. It could go good it could go very bad, just go somewhere else where your chances are better.

My husband ended up in the emergency room 2 days after a prostrate biopsy and when the emergency room called he did not answer, or have an answering service. Dr Lash never contacted the hospital or the patient with any follow up. He spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital with an infection where the urine backed up into his kidneys. He is still catheterized and another urologist is dealing with multiple problems.

I have read the reviews for Dr. Lash and found from my experience with Dr. Lash different. Dr. Lash's office staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Lash himself is a straight to the point doctor which I like but if you need to talk to him about your situation he takes the time (some doctors don't do that) I am pleased with Dr. Lash and I would recommend him to anyone.

I think Dr Lash basically destroyed my life when put products in me that gave me infections. I was in hospital for seven months recuperating.

First clue should have been his business card which features a dripping faucet. A bit unprofessional in my opinion.Second clue was his demeanor. First meeting he strolls in and greets with, "So you want to know if you have cancer."My husband had previously diagnosed BPH and an inconclusive prostate biopsy before seeing Dr. Lash. His professional opinion: wait 6 months, we'll do a biopsy & some radiation if necessary. He does not have a high opinion of robotic surgery. Probably because he is not trained in that area.A month later my husband was diagnosed at a reputable facility with advanced, aggressive prostate cancer; Gleason score of 9. If he had taken Lash's approach there is a high probability the cancer would have spread to bones or organs before radiation therapy.

His off is run like any other physicians. He is courteous and extremely knowledgable. The poor rants are from the same patient. Problems occur in medicine as they do in anything else. No one is God!

Amos Lash should not be called a Dr. and should not be able to treat one more person. Office staff is a joke, are as clueless as him. One of the staff brings dog to office with it in waiting room barking at you as you walk in. That is how unprofessional he is! Has no medical skills.

I was one victim of urologist Amos Lash' gross surgical malpractice. Underwent a prostate surgery and had my bladder perforated. As a consequence had to undergo a major abdominal surgery to close the hole in the bladder and kept in the hospital for 2 weeks. Lost everything and ended up homeless. Such an urologist is NOT a Board Certified per my attorney.
