Dr. Amy Elizabeth Banks, MD

I have been seeing Amy for several years now to treat PTSD and she has made a huge difference in my life. She is the real deal— warm, kind and funny and yet still deeply knowledgeable and a fabulous doc. Definitely recommend.

Dr Banks is the most down to earth dr I have seen. She has helped get me on the right meds and feels like she is easier to talk to than most therapists I have met. She’s also a leader in her field. Highly recommend.

I totally agree with "The Best" What I read here demonstrates negative review overkill! Dr Banks is kind, attentive,... right there in the field of the best. Worked with many side by side. But, for my own care, I chose her! Honest, caring, great listener, and creates a safe environment. Thanks Dr B for your support and my health!

From the recent reviews it seems that someone has populated this site with negative reviews for their own selfish purpose. Amy is by far the best psychiatrist I have ever interacted with and sadly there have been many. She is knowledgeable and extremely empathic. She is eager to help and I can without reservation say that she knows what she is doing. She is excellent in her field and is humble and kind.

Dr. Banks was cold and at times quite distracted. She seemed primarily interested in establishing her own dominance. She was eager to be admired; that was clear. She listed her accolades at several points in early sessions. Seemed strangely oblivious to the fact that her attempts to affect bonhomie and to humble-brag were transparent. Dr. Banks was eerily incapable of "walking the talk" in any therapeutic regard. Hire her at your peril.

It would be wonderful to work with a female psychiatrist who genuinely cares about her clients and who has the emotional authenticity, humility, and intellectual self-awareness to genuinely listen to her clients. Sadly, Amy Banks is not that person. I have been very fortunate to work, both personally and professionally, with women and men who *do* possess those qualities. Without them, I would never have begun to reach my potential. I also count myself lucky to have seen through Banks well before I'd gained much experience in either psychotherapeutic or psychiatric work. Please don't give up if you are looking for a truly qualified psychiatrist or psychotherapist. But *don't* do yourself the disservice of consulting this one. Trust your instincts and intuition. I'm glad *I* did.
