Dr. Amy Combs

Amy Combs, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language from the University of Memphis. Dr. Combs joined The Eye Group in 2022. She was raised in Knoxville and was excited to return after being away for 19 years. Previously, Dr. Combs served as a Captain in the U.S. Army on active duty and also cared for patients in private practice in Washington, D.C. Highly skilled in full-scope family optometry, Dr. Combs has extensive experience treating ocular disease and conditions, including glaucoma and dry eye disease, and fitting complex contact lenses, including scleral lenses. Additionally, Dr. Combs has been a sub-investigator in FDA clinical trials for new devices and ocular treatments. She takes pride in providing her patients with compassionate and excellent care. When Dr. Combs isn’t treating patients, she is likely enjoying the lake, hiking, biking, or gardening.
