Outstanding doctor

I have had Amy Esdale as my primary care for 8 years and I have finally had enough. I was in there a few months ago and told her that I have been experiencing occasional chest pain. Dr. Esdale scheduled for me to have a stress test. I ended up cancelling that stress test because I thought I was overreacting to what was probably nothing. Recently the chest pain has become more frequent so I contacted Dr. Esdales office and asked if she could arrange another stress test for me and I was told they will not do anything unless I come in to see Dr. Esdale. I feel that Dr. Esdale is just looking for a reason to bill my insurance. All she has to do is look at my records to see that I have talked to her about my chest pain in the past and set up another stress test. I don't drive and would have to take a bus from Rockport to Gloucester in 85 degree heat just to go in there....sit in the waiting room for a half hour and then probably another 25 mins waiting in the examining room to be seen by… her and then she'll come in...talk to me for 5 mins, play with her laptop and then have the receptionist schedule another stress test. Then I'll wait outside for the next bus back to Rockport. All that trouble when all she has to do is schedule the stress test and call me to know when .This is unreasonable. I'm going to start looking for a new doctor. In the mean time hopefully I'll be ok. I'm worried that this pain is angina. I've had enough of Dr. Esdale.

I switched to her office about a year ago. and had no benefit form this other than to have a name to put on paperwork as PCP. this line would have been a more qualified position if I put useless waste of space. have tried to use for wifes pcp also to the extent she has cancelled everytime she makes appointment. BE SMMART RUN TO A DIFFERENT CHOICE IN DR'S

I have been a patient of Dr Esdale for over 20 years & feel very blessed. She has also been a my son & daughters doctor. Very caring you are not just a number she knows her patient.

OK please be aware that this Dr. has been sued for malpractice. I and my teenage daughter went to her for several years. Once I had pneumonia and a 103 temp and was left in the exam room for over an hour with not one check in. I was extremely sick. They also lost my daughters records, and even though Esdale had seen her for quite a few years, she did not remember her and introduced herself. What? Wait time was routinely over an hour at least. Misdiagnosed daughter scoliosis.

I've been seeing Dr. Esdale for 4 years, and I should have switched doctors long ago. I've been bringing my child there since she was a day old because I figured it would be very convenient to go to a doctor who already knows me. Boy was I wrong. Twice now I've taken my daughter in for issues she was having, and she was misdiagnosed. The wait is ridiculous. I waited about a half hour in the waiting room today, then another half hour once I was taken back. I'm positive she didn't arrive in the office until shortly before she came back to see us because there was literally no other patients there, and she wasn't in her office like she typically is. I'm definitely switching doctors.

Im very confused by that "horrible" review from may 3rd because i've always had a very positive experience with Dr. Esdale. I find her to be very knowledgable and always thorough.. I believe that she is a wonderful doctor and i feel very comfortable with her. And her memory is VERY impressive, she remembers things about me from years ago and that makes me feel that she cares.... (My father and siblings go to her as well) Although i now live in Peabody and its a little further of a drive to Gloucester i think its 100% worth it. The staff is always courteous and i find it easy to get appointments and any questions i've had about anything have been answered promptly.

Dr. Esdale has cared for three generations of my family. We are blessed to have such a dedicated and expert professional within our community.
