Dr. Amy L. Glaser, MD

Amy Glaser is a world class Pediatrician with a beautiful, fully supported and equipped office on a tree lined street in Park Slope Brooklyn. That being said, I have seen her in action treating kids in their sickness, and can truly say she empathizes with their pain, and works intelligently and tirelessly to bring them relief. Dr. Glaser has remained after hours to treat one of my kids in her office, when I called at the end of the day. She is excellent during well visits also. The nurses at Slope Pediatrics are calm and kind. The office staff is responsive and two other top tier pediatricians are in the practice. I like that I am able to discuss care and treatment options with Dr. Glaser during routine visits and emergencies. She is impressive in terms of her depth of experience and hands on manner. In the words of a classic rock and roll song Dr. Glaser is “Simply the Best”.

Seeing Dr. Glaser the day after our son was brought home from the hospital was one of the low points of my life. She was rude, alarmist and unsympathetic. She didn't listen to us, didn't look us in the eye, ordered us around and made the appointment highly stressful. The staff at the clinic are lovely and competent and her partner is much more personable, but we left the practice because even the chance that we had to interact with Dr. Glaser was enough to discourage us from calling or making an appointment - NOT what you want when it comes to your child's health.

This dr should not be allowed to be practicing. She's mean-spirited - said some awful things to us. Scared me to death. Said, "there isn't a question whether something is wrong with your kid. it's not a matter of 'if' but 'what;" in a matter of fact tone. Here's my response..it's not a matter of "if" Amy Glaser is a terrible doctor and person. She is.Awful experience. Go to someone else. ANyone else.

We had a negative experience with Dr. Glaser, also with a special needs child who has intensive medical needs. She wanted to disrupt my child's care (from his current, highly qualified specialist team that sees my child regularly and has handled the case very successfully) to a closer by solo practitioner Dr. Glaser knows. She did not seem to allow any discussion, then she never bothered to follow up when I left her a note concerning that issue. We were also uncomfortable with her bedside manner, which felt dismissive of our concerns. Our experience was not a good one and we decided to look elsewhere for a general pediatrician, while preserving the relationship my son already has with his successful specialist providers who are caring for my son's special need medical condition.

Dr. Glaser was never nice to both my father and mother and me. She has a antagonistic quality that shouldn't be overlooked when considering sending your child to see her. She misdiagnosed me and denied there was anything wrong with me. She said I didn't have strep and I did. My mother had to ask her to give me the test. Then she said I didn't have hypothyroidism and I did, and a very bad case of it along with other hormonal deficiencies. I wouldn't be as pent up if she was simple a nice but bad doctor, because I would have simple have left it at that and left her-however she is a horrible person and obviously hates children and other adults. There are better doctors in the city there is no reason to send your child to see her, even if it is just for a sinus infection.

Dr Glaser is struggling to keep her patient flow fast enough to be profitable. Her manner is arrogant ("I'm the doctor") and she is largely dismissive of our opinions/questions concerning our special needs infant. Most unsettling, she has overruled the recommendation of two specialists to get a diagnostic procedure performed until there is first a clinical evaluation. I'm very disappointed and cannot recommend her to anyone for other than "general family practice" needs.
