Dr. Amy Holda Gueye, MD

There has been a lot of talk around the incident in Georgia with the baby that died horribly at the time of delivery. I don’t want to go into details but I wanted to take a moment to celebrate a wonderful doctor that saved my baby’s life during a similar situation. Dr Gueye delivered my baby a few years ago and again she literally saved my life and my daughter’s life. I will never forget the terrifying moment when she looked up at me in her usual calm demeanor while as I was pushing and told me that my baby’s shoulders were stuck in the birth canal. I didn’t really know what that meant or if that was a bad thing but as soon as all the nurses and staff in the room began to panic, run around start talking over each other , I knew that there was something terribly wrong. This is when Dr Gueye, in a voice I never heard her use before, yelled “ QUIET”. The room immediately stopped and she proceeded on to give orders in her calm clear voice, told each person in the room what to do and who to… call and to have the operating room on standby. She explained clearly what was happening then told me that I was going to feel a lot of pressure as she and the nurses tried to dislodge my baby’s shoulder. She was so calm, and this made me and everybody else in the room calm from that moment. The next thing I knew my baby was out and on my belly. I cried so much. I don’t know what would have happened without her expertise, calm personality and so much compassion for me. I’m forever grateful and I thank God for doctors like her. I’m so sad she does not take new pregnant patients but I highly recom

I felt very much at ease during my appointment with Dr. Gueye. She is obviously knowledgeable, but also obviously caring. I am so glad that I found her.

Dr. Gueye is humble, but you can quickly see that she is very well trained and very compassionate. She is grounded and relateable.

For years I dreaded seeing the gyn, everything about it, especially the exam, makes me cringe. Dr. Gueye made me so comfortable, AND HER GYN EXAM DID NOT HURT A BIT! When she said you should feel any pain, I thought she was crazy, but I was wrong! She made me understand, that when done correctly, a pelvic exam should NEVER hurt. I am never going to anyone else again!!

Does anyone have bedside manner like Dr. Gueye anymore? She explains everything and I feel like we are partners in my health. She is so thorough and caught things that doctors I have been seeing for years never asked me about. She is sweet and smart!

I LOVE THIS DOCTOR! so intelligent, explains everything, attentive, caring, just love her!
