Dr. Amy Lynne Halverson, MD

I was at NW Hosp. for 4 months for toxic megacolon. I had many doctors (at another hospital) that were lost in my symptoms but when Dr. Halverson came in my room, she immediately started directing people and taking charge. She did my resection, addressed an unpleasant fistula, and did lots of follow-up with me and in my opinion, saved my life. She is a direct, take-charge surgeon which is what I wanted- bedside manner wasn't going to save my life. But, if that were in question, she has always gone above and beyond to help my family and myself understand my health and treatment options. I would trust her with the care of my family as well as myself and recommend her highly.

laughably terrible physician

It’s been 4 years since my proctocolectomy and I have not had any issues with it. Healing was fast since she did it laparoscopic and I couldn’t be happier. I would and do recommend her to anyone with colitis. She’s amazing. Bedside manor is superb. I’m so grateful to her!

It's been a few years since my surgery with Dr Halverson. It was in 2005, as a matter of fact. But I was thinking back on it today, and I remember how much at ease she made me feel, throughout the entire situation. And 13 years after my colon resection, there have been ZERO problems of any kind.

Dr. Halverson is a wonderful doctor and has surrounded herself with an extraordinary team. I recommend her based on her medical expertise and professionalism.

Wait time can be short or long depends on office. Galter building is much longer wait time.Bedside manner, initial appt was horrible because she was very cold and clinical and very direct.....I almost did not go back. I am glad I changed my mind, because she is a very warm and caring and extremely knowledgable surgeon. As an RN. You want a nice doctor, but more importantly you want expertise. With Dr. Halverson you will get both.

Incompetent surgeon. Does not know enough about the surgeries she performs.

Very good experience considering what I went in for. She could tell I was nervous so she asked me questions about my job and took my mind off of things.

Exceptional surgeon. Would recommend Dr Halverson to anyone needing colon surgery. Recovery was much easier than expected.

Great job removing my appendix on short notice. Having a good recovery.
