Dr. Amy Jacobstein-Oxios, PhD

When I was with her, in her office, I felt safe. I drew a picture of her office transformed into a safe place which she never did see. I've had lots of trauma. I don't trust anyone else with what I have been through. It is very disturbing for me. Because it took a long time for me to develop this trust with her. Now I am lost without her. I am an introvert. I did see other therapists, which I regret to admit to now. None of them compare with her. She kept me safe. Safer than my own mother did. It's not about attachment. It's not about getting too attached to someone. It's about having a safe place to express my feelings. I can still go on with my day to day activities but I will never heal. Not without she with whom I've built this bond of safety and trust that can never be replaced by another person. If you see her, you are so lucky, you don't know how lucky you are. She is an angel, and if she is ashamed that I wrote this I just have to say that this review is… intended to be positive. It is sad for me, but it is positive for anyone who has the opportunity to work with Dr. J. Don't take her for granted. I have many regrets. I feel like most of my life has been a complete failure. It's does not reflect anything Dr. J has ever done or said. It's just me. I am ashamed of my life and embarrassed for how I have hurt others. I don't think there is hope for me, but if you have a chance to see Dr. J, you will find your hope. Peace be with you.

Dr. Amy Jacobstein has helped me tremendously with my anxiety. She is extremely dedicated and caring. During our session she is completely focused on my improvement and incorporates details from several previous sessions to help me realize key ideas. She has helped me overcome issues with anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma during two major times of my life. Dr. Jacobstein is an excellent listener, thoughtful, very professional, and highly insightful. I have progressively overcome obstacles thanks to her method and her coaching. I would highly recommend her. Every time I left a session I felt a great sense of relief.
