Dr. Amy Godwin Martin

I quit going to her in 2004 after seeing her for a few checkups. However, she was not at all concerned about the reason I was even there. I wanted to know about the possibilites of pregnancy in my 40's, as many women have children now at that age. She replied, what do you want to be in the gunnis book of records. And another vist in which I started crying because I just lost my mother, and fiance left all in the same month, she said, I should not be sad over it still, when it was just a few months!!! She is a heartless and rude individual. I am surprised she is still in practice.

The one and only time I had seen this doctor...not only did she speed through the appointment, she was rough during the exam and didn't really speak with me and blew off my concerns rudely. I did not return to her and would not recommend her unless she cleans up her bedside manner and realizes that if it were not for her patients she wouldn't be employed and should treat them as if they matter. Women already don't like going to these appointments in the first place, they sure don't want to go back when a doctor treats them as if they are a waste of their time.

I only went to her once and felt so ashamed when I left, I never went back. I made the mistake of asking to be tested for STDs since I had had unprotected sex. She didn't say anything negative but her demeanor said it all - she found me repugnant. Horrible experience. I now see Laura Donner, one of the nurse practitioners in this practice, for my yearly exams.

My daughters and I have been patients of Dr. Martin for about 8 years. I have seen her and her nurse-practitioner, and rate them both very highly, in both their knowledge and care. Of course, the pregnant women get to see her first, and after that she spends quality time with me. She has NEVER pointed her finger, been abrupt, or ignored my questions. I do not recognize the doctor the previous raters are describing--she has always been gentle and thorough with her exams, and she diagnosed and immediately treated a precancerous condition I had. Her follow-up is good, and she treats me like I have a brain. I recommend her highly.

Terrible bedside manner and a know it all to boot. I noticed a lot of snobby people in the office too. I guess that's where the dr gets her damenor from.

I saw this doctor and I can't tell you what a terrible bedside manner she has. Points the finger at her patients and treats you like you are an unfeeling stone. Very unprofessional. Not to mention I prefer that I meet someone before I undress, but that did not happen in this case. They had me disrobe and then she comes in and I meet her for the first time. My previous doctor up North came to talk with me while I was clothed before he had me undress. My experience was very negative. Will NOT be back....and will tell my friends and family why.
