Dr. Amy Marie Matheis-Soliman, DO

My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and CT scans to verify. Two other doctors recommended hospice; however, Dr. Matheis not only over-rode what these doctors and the family wanted, she PULLED the hospice order so my mother did not receive what she needed. It required several complaints from the family to turn it around. Unbelievably arrogant, to decide what a family wants, despite two other doctors recommendations. Avoid her if possible.

I've been a patient for over 4 years. In that time, I've had probably 10-15 office visits, but I've only gotten to see her about 3 times. You're always shoved off onto a NP or a fill-in. She is very rushed and flighty during her appointments. All she want to do is drug people up, not solve any problems. Furthermore, she gives dangerous medical advice. I've had high BP since I was a kid, and was wanting to switch to a medication that would be safe in case I became pregnant. I specifically asked for an appointment for this and they set me up with the NP who said I'd have to see the real doctor (and charge me for the NP visit anyway). Upon seeing Dr. Matheis two weeks later, she recommended just stop taking BP meds altogether even with my health being at it's worst point to date. When that didn't work out well (big surprise) they demanded I pay for another appointment just to get back on my same BP meds. If you feel like paying $300-$400 to wind up in worse shape then you started with no… answers to your questions, then by all means make an appointment with Dr. Matheis (if you can actually see her).
