Dr. Amy Jo Mcmichael, MD

I have been a patient for almost 12 years. Aside from helping me tremendously with my condition Dr. McMichael has simply been amazing in her care and concern. She sometimes has to move swiftly but I am ok with that knowing she is just trying to get to the next person to help them too. But she never leaves until all my concerns have been addressed. I have referred her many times and will continue to do so!!!

I waited ONE YEAR to see this doctor, and when she diagnosed me with a serious kind of hair loss in 2015, she said it would have been reversible if I had caught it in time. ?? At that visit when I told her I had rosacea, all she seemed to care about was convincing me that my dermatologist was wrong. (I do have rosacea!) She is very condescending which I do not appreciate!

For someone who "specializes" in hair loss, she made me feel crazy for being in her office to look at my hair. Her wait time for an appt is one year (yes I waited that long) so I would assume she's the best. She told me "you really can't tell you have hair loss." And the worst thing..."well it would have happened any way whether it was now or in 20 years." Really? What a waste. Very disappointed. Highly condescending and I felt very uncomfortable being there. She offered no alternatives other than what I've been doing on my own. I've seen two other derms since. At least one of them was compassionate because as a young woman losing her hair, it is devastating. Dr Michael is not compassionate nor did she seem anymore knowledgable about hair loss than most derms.

Very knowledgeable and caring.

I love seeing Dr. McMichael. She has a great bedside manner and is great at her job as a dermatologist. I have seen her for problem skin and botox and I always recommend her to others!
