Dr. Amy Deanne Mcmullen, MD

Dr McMullen has shown nothing but care and concern for my health. She is easy to talk to, and listens well to my questions about my health and treatment plan. I have found her to be up to date, and thorough in her knowledge about my cancer, she makes me feel like she is 100% on my team. I am always put at ease by her marvelous office staff, and the compassionate PA, and nurses, who work with her. So grateful that my surgeon highly recommended her as my oncologist.

She takes her time and listens to me during the apmts. She's saved me several times by questioning lab results or scan reports when she felt they were not consistant, and she was right. I've referred her to 5 people and they all are grateful fir her intelligence and humanity. I feel like I have a friend on my health team looking after me. Great lady

Dr. McMullen is a wonderful doctor and caring human being. We were all very grateful for her warmth, experience, optimism, hope, connections with other specialists, her education and awareness of the very latest methods and medicines available. She was kind and available and attentive, wonderful traits in a person and extremely valued in a doctor. We came to her after a year of traveling to UCSF, and were so glad we found her -- and local to us to boot. She was always available by phone, even contacting us during her private family time. Really. An angel.

I know I am lucky to have Dr. McMullen as my oncologist! Amazing human being and doctor. She listens with respect to her patients, and makes it clear she will work with you in her best capacity. And should she disagree with a patient's decision - as she's done several times with me - she does not push, debate or demean but instead gives the medical reasons and her own experience as an oncology doctor as to why she doesn't concur. But she always makes it clear the decision is in the hands of the patient and she will fully support whatever it is. Wow!!!

Excellent attention to my needs and questions, kind, smart and was referred to me from a Assoc Prof Oncologist from Stanford who had worked with her! I have also heard from other cancer patients from UCSF and Stanford that are seeking local treatment with her and that also were pleased and are continuing care under her.

Kind, really smart, compassionate, organized, sweet, calm and steady, assures and gives me confidence, answers ALL my questions. I have total confidence in her opinions, although she easily lets me question and will give all the pro's and con's so I can make a informed decision. Her office staff is not the best, but I can put up with that. All the other MD's and nurses I see, recommend her 100%.

Dr. McMullen has provided excellent care during my illness and treatment. She is competent, caring and courteous. She takes the time to answer all of my questions honestly and without hesitation. I would highly recommend her to anyone facing cancer treatment.

Her concern was how much the hospital cost was for my treatment rather then caring about my health issues, stating to my face "what a huge expense the treatment I needed was and how the hospital had to eat the cost for medicare patients" in my first consultation with her. She denied my treatment ignoring 3 different medical referrals which were sent to her by doctors specializing in my health issues for over 10 years. It was glaringly obvious that her primary concern is about the hospital costs of my treatment rather then patient needs and care with her. It makes me wonder who these doctors are really working for.
