Dr. Amy Lynn Meoli, MD

I had a telemedicine visit with Dr. Amy Meoli for evaluation of sleep problem . I found the interaction challenging. When I asked for clarification on what additional details were needed, she becme very disrespectful and only repeating “I need flow up appointment”. I don't felt my concerns were addressed in a collaborative or patient-centered manner. The visit focused on scheduling follow-up rather than providing a clear initial management plan, and I left without concrete guidance for treatment. I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I found Dr. Amy Meoli to be combative, dismissive, and not helpful at all. I received zero health benefits from this visit and lost 3 hours of my life. I went to Dr. Meoli due to insomnia issues I've been having for over a year and a half. I filled out her extensive questionnaire two days prior to my appointment. When Dr. Meoli saw me, she asked all of the same questions that were on the questionnaire. I didn't mind answering them all again, and frankly, was excited to finally see a doctor who might be able to help me. After hearing about my insomnia, Dr. Meoli started quoting from a "book from the 1980s" that suggests, "just embrace your insomnia." She told me I'm making it worse by thinking about it and that it's all in my head. I personally do not take kindly to doctors or anyone for that matter disregarding and diminishing my lived experiences. I would think a sleep doctor would understand that lack of sleep can have serious health effects of all kinds. I politely disagreed… with this "advice" and told her that my insomnia is a little difficult to "embrace" when I have to be up early for work every day. She then started arguing with me that I work from home, so it makes no difference whether I'm up early. Uhmm....what??? I told her that my insomnia is interfering with everything in my life from work to relationships to mental health, she said I didn't need medication or a sleep study. She then told me to write down my sleep habits for 3 weeks so she could get a better idea of what was happening. I work in data analytics and told her my watch and phone track all of my sleep, and I could give her a 3-week analysis right now. To that, she shook her head and insisted I "Google and print out sleep form" and "write down estimates" of my sleeping and waking hours. It is unclear to me how this would be a useful exercise to write down estimates of my sleep when I have exact metrics on my wrist. Furthermore, seeing this doctor was the last resort to try and get some relief now - not in 3 weeks or one month from now. After going back and forth the entire appointment (an appointment during which she checked nothing physical, but merely asked questions and refuted my answers), Dr. Meoli asked what my goal was in going in to see her. I'm glad I was wearing a mask, so she couldn't my face of disbelief. I could have gotten better advice from Reddit. After this waste of life energy, I promptly made an appointment with a PCP. Two days later, I had a prescription for a supplement and a non-habit-forming medicine that is often used for allergies and insomnia. Apparently, that was too much to expect from a SLEEP DOCTOR!!

She was rude, uninterested, snooty attitude, walked out of the room and didn't even let me know the appt. was over. Med asst had to come in to tell me.

I've been a patient of Dr. Meoli for many years. She is patient-focused, results-driven and meticulous in her practice. She cares for each individual patient, gives them the time and attention they deserve. She listens to the concerns at-hand, provides clear options and is most-excellent at guiding one through the agreed-upon treatment. Dr. Meoli has a delightful personality, always has a smile on her face and makes you feel like the only patient on the planet. No higher recommendation could I offer for any other physician. She is absolutely top-notch!

Poor communication. Risk adverse. Makes too many changes at once. Cannot keep track of previous prescriptions. Not customer focused.
