Dr Amy Morishima, MD

I saw Dr Morishima for an annual check-up since she was available. I had read the reviews here before my visit with her but didn't give them much thought, thinking "How bad can she be? It's just an annual check-up?" Dr Morishima appeared to know what I would expect a primary care physician to know but her delivery was left much to be desired e.g. calling me 'fat' (I am 5ft 2in and 128lbs) and telling me that I'm going to get diabetes and other diseases if I don't lose weight asap. Furthermore, she did not speak "with" me but "at" with little/no eye contact. She seemed to lack self-awareness and appeared clueless that her behavior as a medical practitioner was insensitive, at best, and more likely rude and did little to encourage patients to improve their health.

I have received good medical care from Dr. Morishima, she has been thorough in my experience and has provided good care and follow-up for several medical issues, including one that required surgery. She has also listened to my concerns and provided thorough and helpful feedback.

My mother is very old. And she understands when she is just about the get ill. So she went to see the dr. This doctor didn't listen to her. How can you diagnose anyone without listening? She said it was viral and sent my mother away quickly without giving any tests at all what-so-ever. A few days later, things took turn for the worst. I caught her in time. I took her to ER. And she received antibiotics. She was beginning to develop pneumonia. As old as my mother is, the situation could have been more deadly. This doctor lacks one critical skill as a doctor. That is an ability to listen. Asking compassion for her patients is out of the question for her. There are plenty of other doctors who genuinely care for others. Not this one.

Doesn't listen to patient's issues. she didn't even do a through physical, She was just typing on her computer looking at my face all the time.she should better be a stenographer and not a doctor. She never followed up on my tests or answer my questions directly.
