Dr. Amy Paulette Powell, MD

Dr. Amy Powell, Assistant Professor, (clinical) is a board certified Sports Medicine physician serving as a team physician for the University of Utah Utes. She specializes in the care of athletes and active people of all ages, focusing on attaining and maintaining a patient’s physical performance goals. Dr. Powell received her medical degree from the University of Washington, followed by residency training in internal medicine at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Powell pursued subspecialty training in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she worked with athletes of all levels. Dr. Powell’s clinical interests include non-surgical management of musculoskeletal problems afflicting active people across the lifespan. She has specific clinical interests in prevention and management of injuries in the female athlete, metabolic bone disease, and non-surgical management of osteoarthritis in active patients.
