Dr. Amy Schmidt, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Schmidt for many years and have always appreciated her care.

I have been her patient for 8 years. I thought she was a compassionate, understanding ,medical professional until this past year....I asked for and IUD as birth control because I had been forgetting to take my pill .....she refused and said "I don't do that" and put me down saying "why can't you remember to take a pill it's not that hard. Then this month my ADHD medication was accidentally thrown away and she flipped out screamed at me and was extremely unprofessional!!!! I had to go to th ER for withdrawals. She has horrible bed side mannor, no patient should EVER BE TREATED LIKE THAT PERIOD!!!! BEWARE!!

She has always been great and I have had her as my primary for ober 10 years.

I would highly recommend Dr. Amy Schmidt. She is kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and aggressive in her pursuit of a correct diagnosis.

Had an extreme difficult time getting my blood pressure medication refilled. After the pharmacist tried contacting Dr. Amy Schmidt twice via Fax from Walgreens with no response. I finally ran out of my meds for two days I call Dr. Schmidt's office 823-1010 and left detailed messages with still no response. The 3rd try was finally responded. I was passed on directly to the doctor herself. Dr. Schmidt was very rude....very unprofessional. She blamed me for not leaving a detailed message, which I did giving the name of the medication the strength and my full name with a call back number. She said I did not leave what kind of capsule "time release" or something else. I explained that I was not a doctor or pharmacist and that she should have my medical records. She said she could not locate my medical records.....I have been on this medication for over 5 years. Do not understand what her problem is.....

I just switched to Dr. Schmidt at the end of 2012 when my physician moved and I became eligible for Medicare. She was recommended to me by my previous physician as someone I would like and I do! I have found Dr. Schmidt very easy to talk with and a caring, she answers all my questions, never rushes me, she is a very communicative doctor. I have been very favorably impressed with her.

She makes me feel like my symptoms are in my head, doesn't address my concerns. She is rude and abrupt. Extremely hard to get in for an appoinment.She Should not be accepting new patients because she can't see the ones she has. The worst of the worst. Good healthcare is hard to find in NM. She has no verbal filter and can comes across as offensive and insulting.

I've just recommended Dr. Amy Schmidt to yet another colleague. Dr. Schmidt has treated my wife and myself for almost 20 years, and we could not be happier with her as our primary care doctor. Dr. Schmidt knows us, cares about us, and keeps meticulous records on our health. When she doesn't know something, she researches and finds out. Her referrals to specialists have been uniformly terrific and her follow-ups show that she really cares. Appointments and paperwork are fast and easy-peasy. I could not ask for anything more: Amy Schmidt is a terrific doctor.

She was rude and didn't answer my questions. Rather than listening to me and responding to my questions, she kept going on about things that I didn't ask her about. She has a terrible bedside manner.

As far as I'm concerned the best doctor in New Mexico, a very special lady. Highly reccomended
