Dr. Amy Duoxi Zhang, MD

Having been a patient at Michigan Medicine for decades with a fantastic doctor that retired, I was seen by Dr. Zhang. I was misdiagnosed as she totally missed a corneal erosion in my left eye. That was the main reason I came in to the office. After six weeks of being treated for "dry eye" I was treated with punctal plugs. This had nothing do do with my extreme pain in my LEFT eye. I thankfully found another doctor who immediately diagnosed the erosion and treated me successfully for that. So six weeks of pain and thousands of dollars wasted for punctal plugs in both eyes that were not needed (nor did one stay in more than a day) . I guess my only recourse is to let others know that they should seek another doctor if they don't wish to be rushed through and have a misdiagnosis .

I met her only once. After initial check-up by a technician, I was heralded to her chamber and waited for about forty minutes. When she entered, I told her that I have been waiting for a long time. She tersely replied that she was checking my reports and after a few minute working on the laptop let me go - without even checking my ailing eyes. This was my first (and hopefully the only) encounter with Dr. Zhang.
