Dr. Amylynne Frankel, MD

I am very satisfied with Dr. Frankel. She is personable, knowledgeable, sensitive, and informative. I felt at ease throughout the visit with both the doctor and staff and left feeling confident in my treatment. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking quality and individualized health care.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend Dr. Frankel. When I first saw her, I thought she was thorough, compassionate, and would be a great fit as my dermatologist. Unfortunately after my next visit, I changed my mind. She saw something on my foot - I explained it had been there for 30+ years. She had a very cavalier attitude about cutting in to it. I won't bore you with the long story. But a week later my foot was still bleeding, a month later I have seen a vascular surgeon and have missed quite a bit of work. I want to give this review 1 star but realize Dr. Frankel deserves 2 stars - the support staff only deserves 1 star. The horrific follow up to my phone calls of, "my foot won't stop bleeding" have made me find a new dermatologist. If you are sure that you have nothing wrong with you and you just need a basic dermatologist, I think you will be fine. If you are like me and hit outside the norm - STAY AWAY. (Full disclosure: I waited a month to write this review. I do NOT enjoy… writing bad reviews. I did everything I could to resolve this with the office and honestly believe the follow up I received after my procedure warranted warining others)

When Dr. Takiguchi retired, Dr Frankel took his place so I made an appointment with Dr Frankel. I was impressed with her professional conduct and town-to-earth demeanor. I saw her twice and my skin rash was gone in no time. I had asked the front desk person to refill my prescription for a scalp condition that I had and she said she would put it in. Well, she didn't so after my solutions ran out I called the office and left a message for a return call. It's been about a week now and after 3 calls, no one from her office has returned my calls. The condition has gotten worse and I explained it in my phone message. I will ask my primary physician to recommend another dermatologist. I am not sure what is the reason for a return call, but this is definitely not the way to treat a patient!

my son went to dr frankel from a referral,,,,he doesn't have medical insurance. so he asked up front what the charges would be. he was only told about the office visit charge and never given an explanation for the cost of a skin biopsy. he paid for the visit in cash which he was grateful for but never informed about the additional cost of having a skin biopsy. he received a bill in the mail from dr frankels office for the cost of the skin biopsy. she should have been forthcoming of all the charges related to the visit and let my son decide if he could afford the additional costs. not very respectful of her patient or in my opinion ethical in handling her patient.

Prompt,professional and very personable. Would recommend her to friends and family.
