Dr. Ana Elodia Bennett, MD

Ana E. Bennett, MD, is a Staff Pathologist in the Department of Anatomic Pathology at Cleveland Clinics main campus. She has been appointed to her current position since 2004. She is serving as medical director of the Histology Laboratory and working with the Transplantation Center jointly with the Department of Anatomic Pathology and the Division of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Bennett also teaches a seminar in liver neoplasms at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. She is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Bennetts specialty interests include gastrointestinal, pancreas and hepatic pathology. Dr. Bennett received her medical degree from the University of Panama School of Medicine, Panama City and completed internships in Panama at Saint Thomas Hospital and Santiago Regional Medical Center. She completed five years of Anatomic and clinical pathology residency program at the University of Florida, Jacksonville, …where she was chief resident during 18 months. Dr. Bennett additionally completed fellowships in: gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA; surgical pathology at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO; and gastrointestinal pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC. She is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Washington, Florida and Missouri. Dr. Bennett lectures, conducts funded research and has published abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of Ohio Society of Pathologists, the Cleveland Society of Pathologists and the Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, among others. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
