Dr. Ana Gabriela Lizama, MD

After reading the reviews by other patients they adequately expressed my sentiments. Not friendly and not able to communicate with her. Seemed uninterested and just putting in her time. No compassion. Could not hear her even after I let her know I had a hearing problem. Came away feeling hopeless. Looking for another doctor in the area. Does anyone have a suggestion.

Competent but not friendly. No conversation. Just technical explanations. Uncomfortable visit.

My mom suffers from Alzheimers/Dimentia. Dr Lizama was the only neurologist avail in Grass Valley because the others are not taking new patients. Dr Lizama prescribed a medication that I requested since she had zero other recommendation for my mom other than meds that are common to this disease. Too be honest she seemed un-interested in my mom and never took a personal interest in her from day one. She had no caring or empathetic tone at all. She was stoic and ignored most of my comments while trying to explain my moms issues. The med called Seroguel which I discovered online has worked very well. After 4 weeks of mom doing really well on the Seroquel Dr Lizama refused to call in another prescription for my mom until we went in for another appointment which was scheduled 2 weeks later. Although I called several times begging for her to at least give mom enough of the med until we came in for another Drs appt, Dr Lizama refused to speak to me or renew the prescription. After a… week of watching my mom suffer from horrible withdrawals and psychotic episodes coupled with sever depression I took my mom to another Doctor. I left the new Doctors office that day with the medicine and mom instantly was relieved from her suffering. Why wouldn't Lizama give my mom relief from her suffering until I could get her in for an appointment? I think thats cruel. Very cruel. We will never go back to her!

The doctor is not friendly, Never smiles or seems happy, Competent but sadly lacking in a comforting attitude, She need to make her patients feel that she is happy to see them and make them at ease.

Dr. Lizama is terrific, but the office staff is completely unhelpful with family members attending to patients.

She freely admitted that she has not had another patient with my condition, but she consulted with other mods and did what she could to familiarize herself with its treatments. I felt confidant in her.

Dr Lizama is wonderful I would recommend anyone see her! I trust Dr Lizama would be the first to advise her patients if they should seek a consult from another physician. At least she has recommended I see other physicians, however I ask that she continue to follow my care. She has helped me manage my neuropathy I think the & her staff are excellent!!! I highly recommend Dr Lizama!!!

My fist appointment was very simular to the first reviewer. I was there for something other than a migrain. Multiple Concussion Syndrome. I was afraid that the ONLY Neurologist thst takes Anthem Blue Cross Covered California AND wasn't going to be able to help me. My second appointment with Dr. Lizama was totally different. All smiles, engaged asking how I was doing with the two referrals she gave me; Speach Therapy & seeing my eye doctor because of continued change in eye focuse. Speech Therapy doing good, but not to eye doc yet. I will in 2 days my Dominant eye has changed and you have NO idea how long it took me to text this. Dr. Lizama did several more involved tests in her office asked many many more quedtions. This visit Dr. Lizama seemed a little more prepared and a little more knowledgeable of my speech, memory, cognitive ability skills as well as eye problems that could mean greater brain damage than thought and Dr. Lizama FIRST visit told me to get to my… opthalmologist ASAP. MY OWN fault I did not go sooner. I believe as Dr. Lizama grows and gets into weird problems like mine with her business grows she is and will be a great asset to our County. First reviewer, you should go back and give her and you a chance to know what is wrong and to get to know each other as people. Thank you Doctor Lizama

I waited 2 months for an appointment at the VA. This doctor barely spoke, nodded a few times and said some vague things at the end. No advice, no tests, no meds, no help. Guess I'll start again with someone else
