Dr. Ana M Mercado

Ana M. Mercado, D.M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Ana M. Mercado is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Puerto Rico where she received a Bachelor's degree. In 1992, she graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. "Dr. Ana"  continued her education at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where she completed a general practice dental residency, earned a Master's as well as a Ph.D. in Oral Biology, and completed her orthodontic residency. Her research interest is cleft lip and palate, and she has published many articles as well as co-authored several book chapters related to this topic. Dr. Mercado is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthodontics at Ohio State where she provides didactic and clinical instruction to graduate orthodontic residents. In addition, she is a member of the medical staff at the Nationwide Children's Hospital. In this role, she provides orthodontic care to patients with cleft lip and …palate. Dr. Mercado is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics. Dr. Ana and her husband are busy parents of three boys. She enjoys family life and visiting area Metro Parks.
