Dr. Ana Lucia Restrepo, MD

I just had a very unexpected experience. Dr. Restrepo gave me an explanation of my recurring diverticulitis that was more thorough than any I had ever had. She wasn’t myopic in her diagnosis but spent time explaining various treatments and outcomes. She took time to make sure I understood the condition from various angles. I felt her care and attention to detail. She ordered tests and then thoroughly went over them with me. Usually a follow-up call is from an assistant, but she personally called me after I left and talked me through the results. I have always felt physicians being somewhat in a hurry, with even an assumed 5 minute limit to their visit. I felt nothing of the sort with Dr. Restrepo. She exuded a sense of genuine care and concern. It was a completely unexpected experience, perhaps the first one that I looked back on and smiled. The visit, in retrospect for me, wasn’t so much about my condition. It was more about meeting with a physician (in the truest sense of the word)… who values her craft and shares that with the world.
