Anastassios T Koussis, DDS
Dr. Koussis was born and raised in Southern Greece. He completed his secondary education (gymnasium) in 1952 and in January of 1954 was accepted by Columbia University in New York for his undergraduate pre-dental education leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.
In 1957 he was accepted by the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and graduated
in the top third of his class in 1961. Upon graduation he was asked to join the faculty of the Department of Restorative Dentistry, and remained on the faculty until 1972 while pursuing the development of his own private practice in Springfield, Delaware County.
Dr. Koussis has been in “semi-retirement” mode since 2000, when he joined the Rose Tree Dental Group. He travels between Florida, where he resides, and Media every month to treat his long-standing and new patients. He has no plans for a full retirement in sight.
Dr. Koussis continues to further his dental education through numerous courses …and seminars throughout the year and keeps himself busy playing tennis, jogging (he ran his first 13 mile half-marathon successfully in 2010), biking and photographing nature. When he is in Pennsylvania, he enjoys spending time with his son and two daughters, their families, and his four grandsons ranging in age between 9 and 13.
Dr. Koussis has been awarded a membership in the O.K.U. Honor Society of the University of Pennsylvania and has been given the Earl Bank’s Award of Excellence in Teaching. He has achieved the status of Fellow of the Academy of Oral Physiology and Occlusion as well as of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Delaware-Chester Counties Dental Society and the International Society of Police and Forensic Surgeons.
