This was the first time that I met this doctor and she seemed very concerned with my situation and actually wanted to do some testing which I have not gotten from any other doctors

I did not feel listened to. I wasn't able to complete the entirety of the symptoms I've been having to make me seek an appointment with a GI physician. I decided to reach out for help after weeks of having diarrhea. I was told that I did not, in fact, have diarrhea and to try Immodium and a probiotic and then to check back in 2-3 months. I usually use Allina clinics so when a scheduler called with my referral, she let me know that they use MNGI and I could get in quicker than with their GI physicians. I was directed to have some blood work and stool tests and to make an appointment as soon as there was an availability. The physician I saw told me she can't see anything and to call back if anything is found in any of those tests. It appears my bloodwork results were received as she referenced them during the appointment. I was concerned about something that was elevated and was told it didn't matter. I do not intend to follow up with this physician.

The dr. was excellent I would recommend her.

I met Dr. Sud when accompanying my wife for an initial visit in her Portage, Michigan office. My wife's condition is quite complex and it was clear from the beginning that Dr. Sud had spent no time whatsoever reviewing the extensive electronic medical records that were available to her. When we began to provide her with some of the relevant clinical details that brought us to her, she began to question her ability to provide any care by explaining how her time was limited and that we should probably seek a referral to the GI department at UofM or another academic institution. It became clear very quickly that Dr. Sud was not going to be a useful and cooperative partner that we could trust for our gastroenterological care. Her mannerism was somewhat cold and very detached. If she was attempting to show any sort of caring or concern, it completely eluded us. A video consultation with a doctor in Bangladesh would have had a warmer tone and engagement. We have experienced… healthcare practitioners extensively in San Diego, Seattle and Dallas. Being new to Kalamazoo, it is becoming apparent that this locale does not have the ability to draw the best or most talented physicians. Clearly, there are many here who are likely not in the same class of practitioners that are drawn to major metropolitan areas. Dr. Sud appears to be one of those many. A rather odd observation was that we provided some old medical records from previous GI doctors so that her office staff could make copies. Dr. Sud wanted us to leave her the original documents instead of having her staff copy them. Not a snowball's chance that we were going to entertain that plan. We did get the office manager to make copies, but we have since decided that there is no desire to return to her office.

Terrible, uncaring doctor who walked away after I asked an extremely important question.
