The doctor was condescending and did not listen to me. I do not feel like my concerns were taken seriously and my issue still exists and has worsened. I won’t be going back to her. I am a professional with a Masters degree and was spoken to like I was a child.

My visit with Dr. Mathis was very good. I didn’t feel rushed, she was patient and made me feel quite comfortable. As a new resident of Grand Rapids, I was concerned about finding her office and parking, but it all worked out well. There was a complimentary parking lot at Mercy health for patients.

Dr. Mathis is very friendly and caring, but tends to keep patients waiting for appointments (I have always waited at least 15 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time). She is quick when actually in the room, so she must over book as the wait is not caused by lengthy visits or spending too much time with each patient.

Very helpful and caring. She supports my decision for VBAC. She listens to concerns and preferences while giving her proffesional oppinion without being pushy. Great personality, makes me feel very comfortable and at ease. And she did an excellent job on my emergency Csection with baby #1. The procedure and recovery were good considering my circumstances. I'm greatful to have her for a Doc!

SHE WAS VERY DEMANDING ON NOT HAVING A VBAC WHEN WE WANTED ONE. EXTREMELY PUSHING ON EPIDURAL, INTERNAL FETAL MONITORING ETC WHEN WE WANTED ALL NATURAL EVERYTHING, SHE WAS BY FAR THE WORST DOCTOR AT THE PRACTICE.

I am a nurse and a patient I would send everyone needing a wonderful OBGYN to Dr. Mathis....she is real and speaks to you like a friend...which helps you understand the important stuff...she delivered my daughter and took wonderful care of me the whole pregnancy....I also had cervical cancer in which she was the main doc dealing with it....I am now cancer free!
