Dr. Andre Barkhuizen, MD

I visited him in 1998 and he diagnosed my condition, Fibromyalgia. I felt he was very kind and professional.

I am a young adult dealing with the onset of an autoimmune arthritis, he took time to go over all my symptoms/went over everything that could have cause the onset of it and then took his time educating my husband and I on the differ types of autoimmune arthritis.

Dr. Barkhuizen is the best doctor I have gone to in a long time. He is thorough. He has a helpful, courteous staff who are the ones who check up on me as a patient. He is always honest with me even if it is something I may not want to hear.

Wouldn't want a different doctor. Explained options. Doesn't push medication to control disease instead minimalist and adds as needed with patients understanding.

I went to dr Barkhuizen years back and was satisfied. I have returned to him and I have to say that after 4 visits I feel like I am bothering him when I show up for my appointments. I get about 5 minutes of his time and obviously he doesn't give me any time to tell him about my issues. I feel like my concerns that aren't listened to are a waste of his time. My health matters to me. I'm sorry to have to say this as when I went to him in the beginning I felt like he cared but it's all different now.

I went in with extreme pain and he was very thorough and comforting. He explained my condition and treatment plan, wrote it down for me and went over it again, then gave me printouts explaining the meds and condition. Altho my condition is not curable, he gave me hope that it is controlable. There is also an acupuncturist in his office who accepts insurance. Big plus in my book!

I can highly recommend Dr. Barkhuizen. I have been seeing him for over 2 years and I can honestly say that I am very lucky to have him as a dr. He actually listens to your concerns and wants to make sure that you are as informed as possible on your condition. When I first saw him he sent me home with a bunch of information and told me to research everything and then come back the following week with a list of questions that I have. I never feel rushed in his office and I genuinely feel like he really listens. His staff is awesome as well. Most of them have been with him for a very long time which says a lot about his office.
