Dr. Andre Fernandez, MD

Office manager is mean, rude , and definitely uncaring. Interrupts, doesn’t listen, lies, is unethical. Doctor seems to be only minimally engaged, makes limited eye contact, and pretty much writes prescriptions and you are in and out in less than 15 minutes. Cut me off when my lawyer requested my records for a disability filing. Didn’t even give me a one month extension on my prescriptions which right now will run out before I can get an appointment with a new doctor. I run serious risk of a psychotic episode, which has happened every time I go off meds. Didn’t even follow up on a 4 day psychiatric hospitalization after a suicide attempt. Find a doctor who cares about YOU and who has a caring and supportive staff.

Doctor barely spends time with me. Completely forgot about a hospitalization. New office manager is rude and unethical. Find a more supportive doctor and office.

He is a horrible provider. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years & he is the worst I’ve ever seen. My son is a former patient of his for ADHD. All he does is look at the computer screen & hand out scripts for controlled substances. He won’t explain the side effects or give any information about the medication. He never asked my son one question other than do you want a jolly rancher. Please parents think twice before starting care with this joke of a doctor. All he cares about is money.

He doesn't spend time with a child at all, doesn't listen to the needs or concerns of the child or family and literally spends less than 15 minutes with a patient, which is only to write prescriptions. As well, he will take other calls and answer his pager during your appointment. When he found out I was going to find another provider for my child, his office cancelled an appointment therefore leaving my child without needed medication. I would avoid taking a child to him at all cost if you want quality psychiatric services for your child. And if you request medica records be sent to another provider, he will disrupt the continuity of care, leaving your child without needed and necessary care. I'm filing a complaint with the Kentucky Medical Licensure board.

I had an appointment scheduled and paid for over the phone by my mom. Apparently their policy is payment upon arrival only, but payment was confirmed with my mom and an office staff member ahead of time. When I arrive at my appointment the receptionist informed me that my payment was declined, even though payment went through and was confirmed a few days prior over the phone with my mom. The receptionist always has a sour face but was incredibly rude on this day in particular. She told me that their policy is not to accept payment ahead of time and that I had to reschedule my appointment, also that she would convene with another staff member and call me back on Monday regarding this matter. She never called me back. No one called back. My mom called the office today (Wednesday) and they refused to give her any information. They told her that she falsified the credit card information and also threatened to call the police for harassment if she ever called their office back (she called… them twice). The staff also refused to relay the concerns my mother had about the payment, to the doctor himself and that I should find a different provider. In addition, they lied and stated that I personally left the office very aggressively and "snatched" documents... in actuality I asked the red headed sour faced receptionist if she needed the paperwork that I had in my hand before I left. She said no she didn't need it because she was sure they have copies…. Now there’s $128 down the drain due to their incompetency. TERRIBLE OFFICE. UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF.

I can't think of anything about Dr. F I really like. He never looks at you the entire time you are in there, he writes meds with no concern about the patient, his main concern in $$$$. HE does not return phone calls, a very important thing to know, any good Dr. should return a call. He overbooks....duplicates scripts, never discusses with you what side effects might be a problem.........He has no compassion, he always looks at the computer, not the patient, I WOULD NOT recommend him at ALL!..Think about what is important to you before you see him!

when a psychiatrist you have seen for over a year drops you without any concern weather you have another doctor to take his place or if their was anyone to prescribe my medicine his reason was after I have settled a law suit against another doctor for a surgery that went wrong the law suit has been going on for 10 years and s till going on.to me he not much of a doctor who would leave a very depressed and bi polar patience without a doctor I will never see a doctor who has gotten their degree from another county and cannot speak good english

I advise anyone looking for a Dr. in this field to meet with Dr. Fernandez! Cares, Compassion, superb medical knowledge and makes you feel like you could tell him anything. Has excellent insight and a very kind demeanor! He really is outstanding and saved my life!

Do yourself a favor if you are seeking a Psychiatrist and give Dr.Fernandez's office a call. I was very nervous to see a Psychiatrist for the first time. I was impressed with my whole experience during my session with Dr. Fernandez. He was impressively informed, compassionate, quick minded, and professional. His staff as well as himself are kind and caring. I feel that Dr. Fernandez is also confidential and patient. 5 star!
