Andrea K. Ng, MD, MPH

Dr Ng is personable, thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable, and above all willing to take time to discuss treatment options and to understand and respect patients' priorities. She takes initiative to test her own recommendations against those of physicians in her own practice group and elsewhere, and on one occasion an outside consultation she initiated saved me from a course of radiation which published studies all suggested would be ill-advised, but which had been recommended by a senior BWH clinician. On other occasions, she has been willing to discuss treatment alternatives, with specific and detailed reference to published studies and with obvious respect for my priorities and concerns. I was dismayed to discover that she is no longer practicing within the Melanoma Treatment Center at DFCI; her departure is one of several during 2014-early 2015 which raise concerns about the continuity of patient care in that group
